Size:1 oz. Balsam of Peru organic essential oil is a deep brown color and obtained from the resin of the Myroxylon balsamum tree. This tree is indigenous to Central and South America. The resin of which this oil comes from, goes by many different names such as Black Balsam, Tolu, Balsam Fir Oil, Balsam of Peru, Indian Balsam and China Oil. The aroma is a mix of sweet and spicy, reminiscent of clove, vanilla and cinnamon. This unique aroma makes it useful in aromatherapy. One must be careful when applying this oil topically, as many have shown allergic reactions to it. This oil is a viscous resin, meaning it is on the thick side. Blends well with cinnamon, clove bud, lavender, rose geranium, rosewood and ylang ylang.
