Works, but is dated and not the easiest to work with
This is an Arduino shield, meaning you are to stack it on top of an Arduino you already own. That is not a shocking revelation, but just so you are aware of it. Additionally this board is based on an older design and I found it hard to find libraries to support it. I was able to get it to work with a servo motor easily. The board supports up to two servos with dedicated 3 pin connectors.I then tried to get it to work with a 4 pin stepper motor and could never get it to work. I am sure the issue is on my end given the number of YouTube videos showing it working, but I could not get it to work. The board is setup to control two stepper motors and has the ability to be connected to external power to power the motors. I used this feature, but again, no luck for me.The board is also set up to handle 4 DC motors, for a typical 4 wheeled robotic platform. I did not try this since I was frustrated after the stepper motor experience.As I said above, I don't think this a bad board, but it is based on an older design and for less experienced makers, I would suggest going with the new design.

Perfect for building a simple robot
4 Channels is plenty to run drive and steering motors on a simple bot. I've found this board to be perfect for getting past the hardware challenges of building a bot and moving directly on to programming. Matched mine up with a PI and it's been working perfectly. For the price, you can't make one cheaper on your own.Works great and gets you to the real goal faster than anything else that I've used in this price range.

Bent Pins
A few of the pins were extremely bent I was able to bend them back but the board doesn’t sit completely flat on top of the arduino

Old design but still works
This is the same design as the Adafruit Motor/Stepper/Servo Shield for Arduino kit - v1.2 meaning it's an older design. You can follow all the instructions and tutorials for that board to get this one to work for your projects. This is meant to only be used with motors/servors, and you won't have access to the pins that aren't used by the shield because of the way they soldered their pins it's not a through connection. Remember, it's always better to power the arduino and motors/servos separately.

Decent motor driver shield for an Arduino Uno
This L293 motor driver shield is decent but not ideal.The Good:- It can control four DC motors, or two stepper or two servos more conveniently than using making your own circuit with L293D H-bridges.- It integrates with an Arduino Uno fairly well.- The shield is clearly labeled and well organized.The Bad:- The pins are short, so it doesn't seat fully due to the Uno's barrel jack. Fortunately, the layout was smart enough to avoid the USB port as to not short something.- This shield is an older design and not as flexible as new designs.- Several of the pins on mine were badly bent. Fortunately I was able to straighten them without snapping.Overall, the price is reasonable for a fully functional shield to use with robotic projects.

worked well with Arduino
I repurposed this module to interface with an Arduino that I was using for a led light project for. The board was used to drive the leds, not for driving a motor.It worked flawlessly. The board itself is made well. The screws on the terminal blocks tightened well without stripping. I have had other types of screws strip so I am very careful when tightening them down. You should also.Unfortunately only the pins needed from the Arduino are connected. It makes this board a dedicated device. For my purposes that was fine but it limits it's usefulness if you need other input sensor connections.
