Basic rice cooker for basic rice things
It's a basic rice cooker, so it does exactly what you'd expect: it cooks rice, then switches to "keeps warm" until you turn it off. Like another (and brilliant) reviewer suggested, I also bought a wall outlet switch so I didn't have to unplug it. Since it lives on my counter (with rice in it 95% of the time), I needed a workhorse that was easy to use, easy to clean, and the right size (3 cups in my case). When I make rice (so far white, brown, and short-grain, and they all cooked just fine), I rinse it first, let it soak on warm for 30 minutes, then flip the switch to cook. Never had splattering issues. Make sure to fluff the rice right after it finishes, unless you want the browned layer on the bottom. If you fluff the rice a little each time you get some out, you can prevent browning and soggy spots, both of which can easily happen if you leave it be. If I want rice with anything besides just water, I make the rice, then add the stuff after - anything else has historically worn down the non-stick coating. When it comes to cleaning, I only hand wash, and only with the soft side of the sponge on the bowl. I know it says you can put it in the dishwasher, but the harshness can erode the non-stick coating, and the thermal stress can cause the lid to crack. Never had either issue this or previous rice cooker. My only issue with this rice cooker is having to fluff it periodically to keep soggy spots from forming. In a perfect world, I would be able to leave it on warm without issue overnight, but it's less than $30, so I can't complain. If you need something super cheap, reasonably-sized, and able to get the rice-cooking job done, this is a solid choice.

Very easy to use, and well worth the money.
These things are well worth the money. They were great. I do whole grain brown rice in them and it’s accurate every time. If you do the ingredients as instructed it works perfectly.
