Does it need special circuit for installation or can it plug into a regular socket

It will plug into a regular 15 amp circuit HOWEVER DO NOT have other appliances running at the same time on the circuit. I had it plugged in to an outlet and also on the circuit was my microwave. Everything was fine as long as the microwave was not running BUT with the microwave and the WPG150 Panini Grill on at the same time the circuit breaker would trip.

i would like to buy this panini machine but i want to know if I can use it at home . I live in north America. thanks

what are the dimentions of this press ?

This unit is about 19 inches wide and 15 inches deep. It is also worth mentioning that this press weighs a good solid 70 pounds. We use these to grill chicken and fish.

The plug seems to be upside down ?

Mine was fine. Maybe your outlet was installed upside down? Plug can easily be turned over to plug into an upside down outlet
