Great caffeine free alternative to green matcha
Great alternative to green matcha if you want to avoid caffeine. It's a beautiful colour and can be used to colour cakes or other food naturally. A little goes a long way so I feel its good value for money. The taste is very delicate and lovely, I prefer to have it with coconut milk as a latte.

Pretty satisfying and tasty variation of matcha
I may not be an expert on matcha (though I am a big fan of teas) but what I do know is the colouration is one of the most satisfying things about it that elevates it above other good tasting types of tea, in this case this immediately caught my eye as I am mostly used to acquiring green coloured powders. Turns out this is a type of tea made from butterfly pea flowers and is completely natural despite the impressive colouration, its also pretty tasty as a tea so that's nice. I will admit before I tried to do anything fancy with it I jokingly used it to make up some blue milk that looked like what Luke had in one of the older star wars movies but obviously far tastier, I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to get it mixed decently well with a cold liquid. Does in fact work great as a food colouring for a bunch of cooked things too with desserts being the most obvious, in fact you can theoretically use it to create a fully blue cake since the cream and icing are also options to use this with. I won't really comment on pricing since I don't really know the value of this type of thing but its fun, versatile and tasty as a tea so I would at least recommend giving it a try, certainly will be on the lookout to hopefully acquire other things by this brand.

This Blue Matcha Powder from the brand Drink Botanicals Ireland was the first time I have ever tried a blue matcha powder. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it has a very mild, slightly sweet flavor, although it did not have much flavor. Unlike green matcha tea which I have drank a lot of and is made with hot water, the directions for this product say to make with cold water. It mixes in the water easily. However, the measurements listed on the back of the package seem off as I tried to convert to US standard measurements of ounce, teaspoon, etc. I searched online and the company's information, but the conversions that resulted didn't seem right. Therefore, I ended up making it according to taste. It does make a vibrant blue drink that colors the inside of your mouth like you were eating a blue candy. This might be best as an alternative food coloring, as its listing says you can mix it in cakes, cookies, frostings, etc. It also had a best buy date almost 2.5 years away. That long shelf life will give lots of time to try using it a lot of different ways.

I wanted Drink Botanicals blue matcha powder because I drink a lot of matcha and thought the addition of butterfly pea flower to make it blue was interesting. The butterfly pea flower didn't impart any flavor, just color. As a matcha I think it's priced competitively and the flavor is fine. I brewed it as thin matcha at 180f and it was a wonderful blue color with a slight bitterness.
