When the beef tallow sunscreen trend blew up, I was intrigued. I swapped my regular SPF for one of these natural products containing zinc oxide to see if the hype was real. First off, it feels amazing on the skin—super rich and moisturizing. It absorbed better than I expected and actually left my skin feeling hydrated instead of dry, which is a major win for mineral sunscreens. The lack of harsh chemicals and the simple ingredient list made me feel better about putting it on my body. It didn't leave an obvious white cast either, as long as I rubbed it in well. The scent is totally fine—not beefy at all. It just smells faintly natural, maybe lightly of the beeswax or coconut oil used as binders, which is great. The big thing to know is that dermatologists stress that beef tallow alone offers virtually zero UV protection. The SPF comes only from the added non-nano zinc oxide. So, you have to be sure you are getting a properly formulated product with a legitimate SPF rating. Assuming you use a quality, tested brand, it's a great, nourishing, and effective alternative to conventional sunscreens. Just ensure you are buying a product with tested sun filters.

This beef tallow sunscreen is super inexpensive for the quality and quantity received. I wore it every day in Greece and even on my lips. Now its a daily step in my skin routine even in the cold weather. It moisturizes and protects your skin very nicely and is super light.

Worked well, only issue is that there are too many seed oils included and I’m not sure of the %s. I feel that most people using this product are trying to avoid the same things as me, I didn’t notice the seed oils at first (my fault). This product is expensive enough where they should be able to use healthier alternatives…

Love the scent! Non toxic, tallow lotion! Not greasy it’s soft and absorbable. After I put it on my skin looks like it has a filter! Love!

I have a nice olive skin that rarely burns. I put this product on a sunny spring day and my skin burnt immediately. There was no sunscreen action. The product acted like putting a frying oil on top of my skin and frying my skin in the sun. I then thought I’d use it inside as a moisturizer but it leaves a chaulky residue behind. Do not recommend.

Great more natural product for face. I use this daily as my face moisturizer. It’s nice and light as well. Blends into your skin quickly without leaving your skin greasy. I’ve sticking to this product.

I'm not a fan of the scent—it reminds me of a mix between baby powder and sunscreen, and it gives me a headache. (Scents like lavender or that burnt coffee smell in malls—like at Starbucks—have the same effect on me almost instantly, and this one falls into that category.) I can't say yet how effective it is, since I’m still going to test it on two very fair-skinned family members soon. I’ll update once I know more. It might be okay performance-wise, but so far, I much prefer the scents of Sky and Sol. Honestly, no one wants to walk around smelling like a baby’s bottom. Update: my family who have fair skin didn’t mind the scent like I did and it worked ok. I feel like the other brand mentioned works better longer but the is a nice less $ stand in and at least it doesn’t have all the additives that most are concerned about (though I don’t know about the fragrance - the fragrance industry is unregulated and sometimes even natural companies use bad stuff there).

This is the only sunscreen that does not break me out!! It doesn’t feel heavy in the skin and it doesn’t make it oily.

Went on vacation to Mexico and used this sunscreen... I'm not big on spending hours tanning, but I was in the pool and walking around a lot, did not burn! Almost didn't buy it because another review stated it's too fragrant, I'm normally pretty picky about scents, but I didn't mind this one. I think it's just from the raspberry oil. Spreads easy, no casting, didn't feel too oily compared to other natural sunscreens I've tried (or made) before.

What a beautiful product, absorbs well, feels great! It still allows me to slowly tan! Love it. A little goes a long way!

It's leaves the white cast

Not only is this product is waaaay to fragrant, it leaves a white “Zink” film that is not attractive at all. For a “natural” product, it feels very chemical and full of perfume. 👎🏼

This is by far the best sunscreen I have ever used. Very creamy and easy to apply. It blends into the skin easily not leaving much white residue. Best of all is lasts nearly all day, even in the water.
