Excellent and beautiful product. Works extremely well with 400 gm balls and the fact that the base is made of two units which must contain bearings makes it run smoothly. The stem is fastened into the base unit allows you to pick it up without coming apart. Well worth the money and waiting to find the right one. Value for money but I could have purchased it direct and saved.

The product was satisfactory, I liked the look of the item and the colour of the wood. Unfortunately to use it you have to have it right next to you at the same level for it to turn. If it is on the floor then it will not turn and results in the wool coming off the spindle.

This purchase was for my sister for her birthday. She knits a lot and I found this as a special gift for an avid knitter - it fitted the bill to perfection. This wool ball holder is made of beautiful solid wood and spins easily when in use - she is chuffed to bits with her posh ball holder. It saves her chasing the ball around the floor or the cat getting paws on her wool. I want one now!

The product looks good, made of quality wood.However, when 2 details of the base attached to each other they are not parralell. Consequently, it can't turn in the right way (smoothly and effortlessly).

I bought this because, unlike the other yarn butler's sold on Amazon, this one claimed to have a ball bearing mechanism. It doesn't ! It has a metal bolt that fits in a metal setting. It comes apart, it does not turn, but slides across the table, and I have tried yarn weights from cobweb to chunky, it makes no difference. The bottom ring edge is sharp and there is nothing to protect your table top either.I already own another yarn butler, with rubber feet and a proper ball bearing mechanism. The tiniest of tugs makes it spin freely for a good 7 seconds. This does not compare at all as it does not have a ball bearing mechanism as advertised. This one does not work at all, and will be returned and I will wait for another one to be made and shipped internationally by a proper trustworthy manufacturer.

The item arrived before the date given. It is beautifully made, however I'm disappointed. Yes it does hold a ball of yarn but it does not spin while you are using it. I read lots of reviews before buying a yarn butler so I did expect more.

I bought this wool holder because it looked more sturdy than the others and had a smooth finish to it and spins quite easily. The downside to it is the yarn if it’s thin get stuck in between where it spins and the dye they have used for the finish was staining my white yarn which was not good. I have to try and wedge tissue in it to clean it. There was a lot of colour coming away on the tissue so I’ve had to stop using it for light coloured yarn. Also I had to sit it on a rubber mat to stop it moving about and falling over. So in the end I’ve just stopped using it.

Excellent product. Elegantly made and does the job perfectly. Takes 100gm ball of double knit with no problem. Much better than chasing the ball round the floor.
