So far, quite good
Update: disregard the part about bluetooth not connecting again after timing out: it's now reconnecting just fine. I've just gotten this set up and, so far, I'm quite pleased. If there's no update, then you may take it that I have remained pleased. For background: I've habitually used one or another automatic feeder for most of two decades. I used to travel a lot, and it was just so convenient I used it all the time. I don't travel much any more, and I still don't worry about having to feed my tank daily. I had no issues setting up the app or bluetooth connection, and programming was straightforward and intuitive. Which is good, given that the instructions kinda aren't. I suspect that the source of some of the reported connection issues is that when the feeder doesn't have an active bluetooth connection, it times out after a few minutes. Once it times out, it won't accept a connection until it's waked up again by either pushing the button, or connecting it to external power. This regrettable design choice reduces most of the wireless functions to bragware. Sure I can manually feed my fish from across the room ... after I get up, walk across the room, open the lid, and manually push the button. At that point I may as well just push the button a second time to start the feed cycle, and be done with it. I also don't see how I'm supposed to get empty feeder notices, since I'm just NOT going to keep my phone near it and connected all the time. The programming and the records of feeding times are great, but I don't see how the rest of it is of any real use. The other negatives I see are that the button is under the cover, as others have noted, and the mounting clamp is quite large, and configured in a way that makes it is limited use. Particularly, the screw is about twice as long as it needs to be. For my purposes, it can rest directly on my tank cover, so I don't much care about the clamp. Some may regard the tightness of the lid as a negative, but while it's annoying to open, it does stay on well, so I call it a wash. The positives include the sound: it makes almost none. At mere whispers, the spring flexing and the sweeper flaps skipping are by far the loudest part of the feeding cycle. Another plus is that the food dispenses consistently in the same, smallish spot each time. In my arrangement it isn't falling very far, so the micro wafers I feed don't immediately sink straight to the bottom, which is better for my purposes. A really big plus is that it does, indeed, work on wall AND battery power, so I needn't worry about power outages OR forgetting to change the battery. One thing I'll mention that I wondered about is that the inserts (that limit the amount of food) are made of all right angles. With access to a caliper, a 3D printer, and a bit of skill, making custom printed inserts would be very straightforward. I thought I might need to do that, but the smallest insert is about right for my tank. On, balance I'm quite please with this purchase, and think that anyone not bothered by the factors I've mentioned would be too.

terrible for using when away from home
update: Customer service reached out and was great. It turns out there IS a difference in the versions of this device, and this one only connects within bluetooth range while the other can connect from anywhere. this one still allows scheduled feedings to take place, but no manual feedings while you’re away from home. So if you want to be able to manually feed while away from home, do not buy this model, find the wifi connection model. They refunded me, explained the difference, and I plan to buy the other wifi model. upgrading rating to a five simply because its a great design, great feeder, and their willingness to correct this and have a chat with me is great service so I definitely recommend. does NOT allow manual feedings remotely. which is ridiculous, I’m assuming this product is broken since in the past with a different feeder (same product) I could remotely feed. I really want a refund

DO NOT BUY! NOT RELIABLE
Do not purchase this fish feeder. It is not reliable. I tested it prior to leaving for vacation and it worked. The day I left it no longer worked and my fish were not being fed. I ended up having to have a friend go over to feed them. Piece of junk dont waste your money or kill your fish.

Wi-Fi connection
I really like this product because when I’m gone, I schedule it and it feeds automatically. It’s plugged in so the batteries are not needed and will never die. The app that you download is cool that’s where you schedule your feedings. Only thing is is when your phone connect to your feeder you’re at home, but when you leave your home, it can’t connect to your feeder. Just heads up.

Works as intended
This unit has been great. I've had it going for almost 2 months. I did purchase the add on to increase the capacity. That was a worthwhile purchase. The app connects and is easy to program. I haven't had any issues with food getting stuck. I've refilled it a few times since I started using it with no issues. With a huge koi tank, this doesn't let out a huge amount of food at one time. You can tell it to rerun the feeding cycle many times though, If you want. I currently have it set to do two rounds of feedings in the morning and another 2 in the afternoon and another 2 in the evening. It's really quiet. The fish seem happy with it! On larger tanks there is a lip that allows a glass top to be fitted on the tank, the clamp system is wide enough to accommodate the thickness of my huge tank but it does not get around the lip of plastic. This means that the unit is really just sitting on the top quarter inch of the tank frame. I was nervous it might fall since it can't be fully seated but so far, things seem ok.

Bluetooth synergy is bad. Need to manually reconnect each time.
Love the feeder and the simplicity. The battery seems to last a good while. The only reason for the subpar rating is because the app does not stay connected to the phone through bluetooth. This presents a problem if you're not at home to reconnect it, which is every time you open the app.

Worked well for a few months
It worked well for a few months then it died! At first it was inconsistent with dispensing the food, then it stopped all together. I tried to clean the dispensing tray, but that didn't help. The description on Amazon says that it has a 2 year warranty. I've tried to contact Amazon to see if I can get a refund or replacement but no luck so far. I think that this feeder would work best with pellitized food. I think that the reason that it doesn't work now is that the flake food gummed up the dispensing tray. If you use pellitized food this might be worth considering

App issues
Biggest issue is using the app. Sometimes you cant login ( typical poor quality, Chinese app) and you wont know how long your feeders haven't been functioning. Its confusing on how to reset your password and once you the app doesnt recognize it which render your supply of feeders useless. ( they may still feed on their programmed schedule) Feeder works fairly well. I have had other automatic feeders that gum up quickly. These need cleaned every couple of months.
