Sturdy pole but assembly instructions are unclear
I installed this 10-foot shade sail pole about 8 weeks ago in my backyard and it’s definitely solid once you get it set up properly. The welded chassis base is much thicker than I expected and feels really sturdy compared to some flimsy poles I’ve seen. The all-threaded connection system does create a tight fit between sections with no wobbling, which was a concern I had with telescoping poles. The rust-proof coating seems to be holding up well through rain and sun exposure. However, the assembly instructions are pretty terrible - just basic diagrams with no written steps. It took me about 45 minutes to figure out how all the pieces fit together, especially the threaded connections. The six steel rings for height adjustment are handy for hanging different things at various levels. The decorative stainless steel ball on top looks nice and gives it a finished appearance. The pole is definitely heavy-duty but that also means it’s quite heavy to handle during installation. Make sure you have help positioning it because the base alone weighs a good amount. Once installed it hasn’t budged even in some pretty strong winds we’ve had. Good for permanent installations but probably not something you’d want to move around frequently. For the price it’s solid construction that should last for years, just be patient with the assembly process.

Super easy to assemble
The shade sail poles have been fantastic in my yard! I’ve got four set up over my in-ground pool, and they’re tall and sturdy. This awning has been a great investment, especially since my kids are in the pool every day and the sun has been so intense. It provides excellent coverage, is easy to install, and has a base that keeps it steady even when the wind picks up. It’s light, comfortable, and gives a lot of sun protection. The assembly is super simple—just fit the pole sections together. Make sure to follow the instructions and use a block of wood to protect the ends when tapping the connections with a hammer. Some of the other poles I’ve had used plastic caps to seal the tops, but those cracked over time. This one’s much better—it’s factory-fused, so no worries there. Mounting the base was easy too—I attached mine to a concrete slab, and it’s solid. The base being welded onto the pole makes it way sturdier than the ones that require bolts. Just follow the simple directions, and you won’t have any problems. I even mounted a solar street light on one of the poles, and it’s holding up great. The sleek design is an added bonus, and since I installed it, the poles have handled wind gusts up to 25mph without an issue. They’re easy to install and super sturdy once anchored into the ground.

Not hardy enough at all for shade sails.
I wasted my money. I ordered 2 sets. They looked hardy enough to not bow but in reality they bowed right away. I had 16' x 16' shade sails attached and they bowed like toothpicks as soon as we tried to tighten them to get rid of the shade slack . I stalled cement footings to anchor them down. Within 5 days a small dirt devil came and pulled one out of the cement. These seam to only be appropriate for just string lights and NOT shade sails!

Much better than similar brands
I have tried similar poles before with mixed results. The ones that do directly in the ground are not stable at all and the skinny ones aren't strong enough. These are a much better option. It screws into my porch so it's very secure. They were super easy to assemble and only took a couple of minutes to install. The top has little hooks for the carabiners so my canopy is safe and sound. Even a very strong wind can't move it out of place. The pole itself is more like a column. It looks really nice and seems like it was built into the porch instead of being an afterthought project.

A good product overall.
This set was a great find for an affordable price here on amazon m. The poles are solid and strong and also thick and sturdy. The quality was very important since we get a lot of rain here In Louisiana. We were able to setup to our canopy that hangs right off our patio shed with this set. All pieces came in the box and it was simple to setup as well.
