As an avid fan of American wheat beer, I find this offering from the Chicago based Goose Island brewery quite pleasant but nothing special. The best thing is that it is one of the more readily available American wheat ales in the UK. You can find this brand in most supermarkets these days at a reasonable price. It has a typically unfiltered & hazy appearance, with a citrussy sweet hoppy nose. It's not bad stuff really. Not quite up there with the West Coast hefewiezens like Pyramid, Alpine & Gordon Biersch which are all characteristically more Belgian-inspired so are more cloudy with the more familiar banana, clove flavours. At this price though it's well worth a punt!. I prefer Hale's El Jefe or Widmer Bros. personally but will happily drink Goose Island anytime. Marks 7 out of 10.

This beer is a lovely brew. A great wheat beer that I first discovered on a trip to Chicago. A friend of mine loves craft beer and lesser known types, so I thought I'd get him a crate of these for Christmas. Well, as per attached photos, they arrived in an appalling state. Amazon are well known for over-engineering their packaging but in this case completely and utterly failed with zero packaging whatsoever! The delivery stickers directly applied to the carton itself and then obviously manhandled so badly that it had ripped by the time it got to me. Why wouldn't they put this in an outer box like anything else - for protection at the very least? Fuming....but feel it's not worth returning. Will have to repackage the individual cans in order to gift them... Sadly due to the state they arrived I can only give 1 star to this purchase...however it is 5 stars for the beer itself.

I loved this light beer when I was in Chicago and found it on Amazon Brillant!!!!!
