Sony RMT-831 Remote Control for DCR Series and Other Camcorders Handycams

As advertised. Allowed me to copy my remaining tapes with out buying a new camera because only my screen was out. Very happy.

I'm purchsed this remote for use with the HVR V1U Sony Handycam. Even though most resources don't mention this as being compatable, it works perfectly.This is a wonderfully functional little unit but it is much smaller than I imagined. I probably only measures 3" x 1.5". Depnding on your hand size, this could be a blessing or a curse.This unit has all the features you would want to access on your camera from a remote standpoint.The only problem I had with this unit (other than the battery being dead when I got it) was getting the battery compartment open. The Sony instructional manual is quite vague. With the back of the remote toward you and the battery compartment pointed down, press the little tab toward the right, then slide it out. The manual sez press the tab "in", no, you press the tab "over".Over all, no regrets.

Can't give a good review on this product I was not able to get it to work with our video cameraIn all fairness it maybe my fault in not being g able to get it to connect although I am usually fairly handy with sort of thing

This did not come with instructions of any kind and my original device had no remote. I haven't been able to find a way to sync it so far, so to be honest it has been tossed in a drawer. Instructions of any kind, even a reference of whether this would work with devices that did not come with a remote originally, would have been nice.

A hard part to find but this made it easy and it is what I needed for my movie camera during playback on a TV screen

I got this for my new dvc cam but does not work at all, but the up side is that it does work on my sony 8mm, so an acidental bonus
