Smoke is way too over powering. I recently went to a high end steak house and they had finishing salts in the side to try with your steak. They had one that was a smoked cherry wood and it was very delicious with a subtle grilled/smoke flavor. Very subtle and yummy!!! This product however tasted like AN ASH TRAY. I threw it away immediately. Now if you like Mezcal Tequila which is a Smokey flavor, also tastes like an ash tray to me, you may like this !

Very good smoke flavor with this sea salt. If I had to say something bad, the jar is too small for the price.
