I didn't think it would be possible to mount a gate at my basement steps without damaging the banister but my kid being a menace forced me to really try to find a solution. I was just going to drill into it when I found this and it's a brilliant solution. This combined with a baby gate with sliding cat door are a total game changer and I finally feel safe with my kid nearby and we can take it out with no damage. Works perfectly, cheap and simple to use. Great idea.

Great kit, perfect for installing our baby gate. Suggest lining up your baby gate latches before attaching it to the wood and banister or you’ll have to do some adjustments like I did. It was so easy to install and the wood color is great and goes with many types of wood. The Velcro design is great so you can make adjustments. Seems strong and worked perfectly for our use. Had to move it slightly off center of the banister so the gate would close better but that didn’t seem to impact the strength. Plan to get another set for our downstairs stairs.

Works great. We live in bi level house and sided in stairs don't match up. This fixed that and now gate very secure.

Bought this to help mount a baby gate between two newel posts. I watched the two videos that said how well it works, how good the instructions are, and how easy it is to install. Now I'm not a construction genius, but I've put a few things together in my 70+ years, and I can say that the instructions are NOT clear, and that it is NOT easy to install. The ratchet straps--really good idea--are too long to tighten effectively unless your posts are really fat. I ended up buying a couple of velcro straps that are much more adjustable and effective.

Great idea for using a gate on stairs. Fit my railing well and was easy to install.

I have a lot of stairs in my home that will require baby gates but I did not want to drill into the banisters. I love that these came in pairs and the quality is fantastic! I also appreciate that multiple connectors are included so that I can mix and match as needed depending on my banister style.

The ratchet straps are too long, it won't tighten enough to be secure. Good idea, but bad design

My stairway had a metal handle so we couldn’t drill and purchased this. So far so good it has made our gate stay in place, no accidents. Thankfully , glad I got this
