I was surprised that this set of Laguile was so affordable. They are stunning and a great overall knife set. However, after one wash in the dishwasher, the handle has lost its waxy feeling. It almost feels brittle. I will be handwashing going forward. It is wood after all...

Very sharp edge with a very brilliant blade contrasted by nice wood grip. With use I'm sure the shinyness will temper some.

Weighted nicely, and appearance at least as good as the photo. I really don't trust these in the dishwasher, but the effort to hand wash is minimal. These knives look a LOT more expensive than their real price. This is an excellent value.

So over 10 years ago I bought two sets of serrated steak knives from Dollar Tree. The epitome of cheap and I was pretty broke at the time. In preparation for my recent move I decided I was buying myself all new flatware to include steak knives. 12 place settings so I could accommodate extended family although with beef prices what they are, if all 12 of these are being used at the same time we'll be eating chicken. These are great. Super sharp and well balanced, they just feel good when you use them. I didn't need the gift boxes but the boxes were REALLY nice. These would make a great wedding present.
