I bought my Kia Ev6 in January 2025 and was looking for a level 2 charger that was reliable yet affordable and sure enough, this fits both criteria. Bought this and got it installed by an electrician who was helping me install the dryer plug in my garage and it looks nice and charges the car flawlessly and it’s pretty fast. I get to 80% in about 5 hours which is perfect for me. It’s got a long cord too just in case I need to charge the car from a distance. Electric bill is not bad at all too! Recommend this product for anyone needing a level 2 charger to charge their car!

Excellent EV charging station. Simple to use with quick and reliable charging. Quality build that's sturdy with an internal cord holding design. No noticable noise during operation. Fit is no problem since the cord stays within the unit and needs no additional wall space on which to hang.

I really like this charger! This is a very simple easy to use charger. I like that it doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles as my experience is those sorts of things are just more to break. It works as it should when you plug in your car. Gun is very nice and well made. Cord is long enough to easily reach. Install only took a few minutes and was also easy with the provided hardware. I have owned it for a few months now and have had no issues. I would recommend this charger to anyone looking for a level 2 charger in a no-frills package. I believe this charger says it can be installed outside. While I don't doubt it could be, I'd recommend installing it out of the weather. It does deliver the 40 amps charging it promises.

This item is exactly as described. No display but the functions exactly as described using a built in color coded light system on the face of the charger.Red solid = Emergency stop just twist the red button or push to engage emergency stop.Solid Blue = Ready to plug in.Flashing Green = Charging.Solid Green = Charging Done/Stopped.Setting up is a breeze a few screws in the wall to hang the bracket and the machine slides into the lock while the cable wraps neatly around the charger with a neat dock for the J-PlugThe device itself is very small and weighs as much as a collage text book. The cable itself is very easy to move around and the button on the plug gives a definitive click to stop charging when you reach to unplug.The Nema 14-50 outlet looks to be high quality and very thick it seems it can take much more electrical load after a full 3 hours of level 2 charging the plug is not hot, not even luke warm.In the instructions it gives details on how to manually switch settings with switches inside the cover but I have not messed with that as I bought it’s current setting to match my EV’s input recommendation.I look forward to purchasing the updated model with the touch screen and using this as a back up charger while out on the road.

I am very pleased with this product and it's price. Three months now and it's been doing a great job as a home charger for my 24 Kia Nero.

The VEIPHLOX 40 Amp J1772 Level 2 Charger is an ok plug type charger. It has quite a footprint and includes a plate to wall mount. It has unique features compared to competing products, features such as an emergency shutoff and a holster for the handle, as well as being built for the charging cord to be hung around. The material finishes are ok. It could be made out of higher quality materials.Comparing this to competing products there are many out there that are far smaller and weigh 2/3rds of the weight, and have more important features such as being able to monitor the device temperature and duration of charge, voltage, amps, and kilowatts-hours. The trade off of having a holster built-in, cord hanging capability, and an emergency shutoff just isn’t enough to justify this device over others that have pertinent features!It has substantial heft to it at 12.03 pounds! The cord length is excellent and the charging cable is decently thick at 0.630 inches. I didn’t experience the cord getting too hot. The handle did heat up quite a bit. An issue that I encountered with the plug is that it did not have the large extrusions on both side for gripping. Instead, there were nubs that were too small to be pulling on to disconnect the plug from a mating outlet!The J1772 handle has a grippy finish to it and the thumb switch is decent! Though the ergonomics of the handle is a little off since the handle is too thick and the depression groove for the index finger isn’t quite right.This device was able to handle the heat of a Texas summer with over 100 degrees Fahrenheit inside my garage. I have this connected from an extension cable running off of a 50-amp breaker. It was able to sustain 40 amps to a 2021 Tesla Model Y.This device is marked as having an operating temperature of 122 degrees Fahrenheit, so I am hoping that it doesn’t give out the exact same way an EVDance 40-amp charger did because the operating range is supposed to be 122 degrees Fahrenheit. With the EVDance charger it had a digital temperature readout on it and I would see it hit as high as 141 degrees before it started throttling the device one day and would not sustain 40 amps anymore.I thought this VEIPHLOX would have a higher temperature threshold since it has better cabling and is in a much larger housing than the EVDance, but they both have the same temperature rating and the EVDance is a portable charger with a smaller diameter cable and smaller proportions.The EVDance is currently throttling charging to as low as 29 amps to keep from going above 122 degrees Fahrenheit. So, I think something needs to be improved in the materials to allow for higher temperatures, or to keep the device cooler.

Works great, easy install. This is a quality charger priced lower than its competitors!
