I did some research and Auto-Vox backup cameras came out on top. The camera was well packaged and every bit as easy to install and get working as described. I wasn't sure if I wanted the 5" camera or the 7" camera and decided the 7" camera was worth the extra cost, which wasn't much. It has the capability to record video which is a plus and lets it also function as a rear dashcam in the 'always on' mode. The picture on the camera is crisp and clear and the color is rich, and the picture is easy to use when backing up. It also has an excellent night-vision picture.I also really like the fact that it is wireless and solar powered. That saved me from a great deal of trouble wiring it up. I know from what my mechanic told me that wiring something in the back of my car, like the collision detection feature of my rear dash cam, would be very labor intensive because of having to completely remove the rear light assembly and work around a lot of obstructions to get something wired up correctly. Being solar powered saved me from all that trouble and time and in only about 5-6 minutes I had the camera and monitor set up and it was working.I've had it about a week so far and have had no trouble with the camera or the monitor. I did an initial charging of the battery and the sun charges the camera battery just like it should so I don't have to worry about battery power for the camera. It connects with the monitor with no trouble at all and there have never been any glitches the monitor picture.There are a lot of other choices in backup cameras but Auto-Vox is one of the best if not the best. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend backup cameras from Auto-Vox. Also, I had a question about something and a customer service rep, Gigi, was extremely helpful. My wife can now see when backing up. Great product. Installed upside down (bottom of license plate mount). Easy install, very clear and wide rearward view. So far, the battery has remained fully charged. Installation was easy. My wife is very short (4' 11") and has always had a problem seeing when backing up. Not now, she really likes it and has taken away the fear of backing up. Installed in a 2008 Saab.

The system works good for being a wireless unit. It does have its faults though. I had the monitor mounted on my dashboard and had to reposition it later and the monitor holder that adheres to the dashboard does its job well. Pro: It stuck very well and didn’t move at all. Con: When I peel it up to move, the bottom plastic is now curled, and the adhesive is missing or thick in spots and it doesn’t look very well. I wish it came with a traditional cell phone suction cup holder. Make sure it’s where you want it, and it works great the “first” time you stick it to the dash. The biggest complaint I would have is the placement of the camera in the bracket it attaches too. The picture is offset a little and not centered in the frame. I purchased this as a backup camera for hooking up a trailer. I wanted to see the hitch on the truck and the tongue of the trailer. The first time I screwed it to the license plate area of the truck and adjusted the camera down to see my hitch, the view in the monitor was angled and way to one side. I tried using it this way a few times but couldn't get used to the picture. I ended up using self-drilling screws to mount this on my tailgate so that the picture was centered. It works great for my application, but my truck is just an old work truck. I don’t like the looks of where I had to mount it, but it works.I have only had this for a short time, but so far it is working well for me.

The auto-fox wireless dual backup camera with 7” display has been a godsend! I own a Chevy Tahoe that I use to pull 2 utility trailers It has barn doors, so hardwiring a backup camera is a really big hassle. . I use it to pull my utility trailers and needed something to help me line up my Tahoe hitch to the trailer tongue. I was tired of getting in and out of the vehicle to see if I was aligned right. This reduces those situations greatly.The installation took less than 5 minutes and the 7” screen clarity is perfect You can easily adjust brightness, contrast, and other settings. But the added bonus of an extra camera to put on my utility trailer and ability to see a dual screen of the 2 cameras makes this deal AMAZING!! I can very quickly swap the camera between the 2 trailers depending upon which one I am using. I can now see the back of my car and back of trailer when in reverse so I do not jackknife and get out of the vehicle to see if the trailer is lined up right.. I wish I had this setup when I owned my travel trailer. Backing it into sites would have been a so simple.I have bought other auto-vox backup camera and I can attest to their durability and fine quality. I highly recommend them to anyone who pulls a utility or travel trailer.
