I have a 13,000 ltr Koi pond, and use salt as a chosen treatment before any other product, you cant overdose with salt unless you want to pickle them. Calculate the amount of water in your pond, length x width x depth. measure in feet, and multiply by 6'25. 1/2 oz of salt per gallon of water =0'03 %. you can safely use 0'06 % for a treatment. Pond salt will kill most parasites very quickly and is much better than off the shelf stuff. As a treatment health dip, use 1lb of salt to 4 gallons of pond water in a suitable bowl, for a maximum of 10 mins. Observe the fish at all times and remove immediately if it becomes stressed. Read the instructions on the label if using other chemical treatments with salt in your pond. Remember, the salt will lose its spike after 3 days but it stays in the pond, can only be removed with water changes. See fish-helpline.co.uk.
