Top of the charts.
I had just begun a project; routing dado's in a 2x12 piece of pine and these bits arrived two days early. They were wonderfully packaged and the box and shelves the bits come in are top notch. Very nice product. I used the 1/2 inch straight bit to cut the dado's and cut them 1/4 inch deep. The bit had absolutely no problem; no burning, binding or breaking. Cut as nice as my American Vermont bit. Can't wait to test the other bits on scrape pine pieces I have. Very happy with this purchase.

Great set for the non-professional
First set of these bits were a REAL bummer. The had chipped edges and cracking along the finish. The set also looked as if it had been used and the box was really beat up. I sent a return request to Amazon and they immediately shipped out a new set which is MUCH MUCH better looking than the first box I got. So far I'm happy with the new set and they do the job pretty well. I originally invested in these since I own the identical 1/2 shank set (which does a GREAT job at everything), so I figured the 1/4 inch would be of similar quality. Obviously, the 1/2 shank is much sturdier, but the 1/4 shank have turned out to be pretty good too for less intensive routes. I'm subtracting 1 star for the bad experience of my first set, but overall the set seems to be a good compromise between quality and price. They won't win out over a Freud or Whitehall of course, but if you're looking for quality bits that'll 1. do the job 2. have some lasting power and 3. aren't complete crap, then MLCS is a great buy

... bits you'll actually use and things that just look cool in the box
When looking at bit sets it's always difficult to distinguish between bits you'll actually use and things that just look cool in the box. I purchased this set with a palm router. For context, I don't use the router that much and I'd consider myself a casual hobbyist woodworker. Of the 15 bits included I've used 3 over the last 2 years. Given that buying bits individually has them at anywhere from $5-10 a piece, I'm somewhere close to justifying the cost of the whole set though not quite. In that same time period I've also purchased a smaller roundover bit (the included one is a tad large), a pattern bit (straight w/ top bearing) and a larger rabbeting bit. I still think this is a pretty good deal for the set and the box is a nice touch. The trays that the bits mount into can be a bit of a tight fit though but it loosens up the more the bits are inserted and removed.

Good starter kit
I've had a router forever but never used it. So, I purchased this kit to start me off since individual bits are crazy expensive. Pro: -Appears to be a good quality set -Wood case -Variety of bits to get you started (decide what type of bits you will use, etc) -I've used about half of the bits and they have all produced nice clean cuts Cons: -Compared to the other kits with this quanity, I wish it had another rounder bit.

Good value on a set of generic / chinese bits.
First time router owner / user here. I bought these bits to go with the Makita RT0701CX3 1-1/4 HP Compact Router Kit. I've put a total of about 30 minutes of actual cutting time spread over 3 or 4 of them. So far they are all working fine in softwood and hardwood as well. For a newbie router owner it's hard to pass up a set of 15 bits for the price of 1 or 2 Bosch or Freud-brand bits. 4 stars for value. The wood box they come in is handy, not excellent quality but good enough. I'll update this review in 6 months or a year after extended usage.

Import Junk
Bought this set because another reviewer said it was American made, and many positive reviews. I don't see any American made label on the packaging, and should have known better I guess because the set was priced too low to be a good quality product. I've been a woodworker for 30 years, and in my opinion the overall fit, finish, quality is typical import junk. All the guide bearings have slight wobble. The bearing set screws are not machined straight into the shaft, and this will certainly cause bearing failure, plus damage to the work piece, or could injure me when a bearing fly's apart. The cutting edge seems sharp, but this set is going back for a better quality American made set. I'm willing to pay more for a better product.

I like the wooden storage case however I doubt it would ...
I have only used the roman ogee and the outside cove bits. The outside cove bit ran about 120 feet of treated 2X6 on a handrail almost non-stop. The finished edge was surprisingly smooth even across the grain. The bit collected very little resin considering it was treated wood. And the bearing feels as tight as it was out of the box. I like the wooden storage case however I doubt it would stand up to much abuse in a truck or mobile tool box. For the price, these seem to be an excellent set of bits.

Okay for small projects, but can break!
If you're using this on small replaceable pieces of wood, it's a nice little starter set. But, if you are going to use it on hardwoods (most things other than pine) or any expensive piece of wood, they can break under strain. I've used them for a number of projects and they worked well, cut clean. But I used one of the pieces with the ball bearing guide on a maple butcher block countertop. The bearing exploded after about 2/3 of the edges and caused serious damage to the piece of wood that cost me several hundred dollars. I never had an issue on pine or smaller pieces of wood, so just be aware, if you're going to take on serious projects, this is not your set.
