I was thrilled as soon as I saw the board. Beautiful. The chess pieces are a very nice weight with felted bottoms. As I gave this as a gift it would have been nice if there were a square of felt inside the chess board box to keep the pieces in place while transporting. The pieces fall out of their little indented placements. The zipper carrying bag is an added bonus. However it is beautiful enough to keep displayed. Which we have done.

Perfect for having a unique chess set in your living room, den, or family room ... Playing with pieces that look authentic as king, queen, knights, etc is thrilling! Yay for "The Queen's Gambit!"

This is very well made and the case its in is great.

There's ZERO about this product that is (a) well built (b) "gift-able" or (c) worth the money. The package just comes in a plain white box and wrapped in bubble wrap. When you open it there's a crappy brown bag with a cheap zipper that opens to a chess board that's wrapped in more bubble wrap. Hardly "gift packaging".The Board itself is nice but the pieces are poor quality, feel very cheap (definitely don't feel like brass) and in the set I received NONE of the pawns that were painted gold were entirely covered with paint.This is a piece of garbage. Don't spend the money on it.
