A nice box for the money

It’s a good tool box. I installed it on my roof rack, for my Jeep Cherokee WJ. I keep my recovery gear and such to free up the rear cargo area for camping stuff.The reason four the four stars is, the lift strut attach point on the lid, is made with very soft aluminum. It got torn off on a windy day when I had it open. Not a big deal. I’ll make a stiffener patch and pop rivet on, then reattach the strut bracket.

What can I say, it is a cheap tool box but not too bad with thin gauge and poor lid seal. I mounted it to an aluminum trailer for a tongue box. I could not find the size that I needed in a premium box and so with a little work and proper mounting it is OK. I added an aluminum angle to the bottom of the lid to stiffen the lid cause it only has one latch in the middle, would not be necessary if the box had two latches. The gauge is so thin you could bend the lid corners up to open without much effort, so no sense in having a lock other than using in a kindergarten. Biggest disappointment is the deformed star pattern on the sheet metal is not square to the box so that makes it looks worse than it is and unfortunately I did not notice that fact till I had it mounted or I would have returned it.
