I have used the trowel over the weekend to level a small area around a gravel pad and I am impressed. The shovel is lightweight, durable and has a solid grip. My wife used it in her grow boxes and also was pleased with the way it felt in her hand.The material feels like an cast aluminum alloy yet it has the rigidity of steel. The trowel has no rust spots even after leaving it outside over the weekend.If you are looking for a sturdy lightweight hand shovel then I think this is a good choice.

Steel is strong, but is heavy and will rust.This one has a large grip and lightweight. It's made from some aluminum alloy, which is lighter and rustproof. For what we needed, it's perfect.

This is a solid trowel. I've used it for the last couple of weeks in some pretty tough conditions and it's holding up well.I'm putting in some beds along a gravel drive and the ground is compacted with lots of gravel off the drive packed in. Now, of course I used a mattock and shovel - not the trowel - to break up the soil and work in compost. Still, I wasn't just using the trowel with potting soil. It was a tough test for the trowel and it performed well.It appears well-made and I expect it will hold up well in the long term.

Very sturdy. I have bent a couple of other trowels by trying to apply more pressure or torque than they were made to handle. This trowel is comfortable to hold and up to every job so far.

I am constantly breaking/bending my hand shovels so I decided to order this shovel. It is very well made, very strong and it works as designed without bending/breaking. Best shovel I have owned

Some trowels I have owned bent where the handle flared out to become the cupped part. This trowel appeared to avoid that problem with a solid piece of metal. However, probably to cut costs, the solid part becomes honeycomb half an inch into the handle where it broke after a couple weeks of use. The handle was comfortable and if they had not cut corners, continuing the solid piece of metal to the end of the handle, it would have been a great trowel.
