Works perfectly
Works great. Easily pushing about 1000 gal an hour with DC pump. The key to no bubble build up is to push a lot of water through the tubes or use less tubes! It's a tuning process. Check out YouTube for more info.

Awesome buy.
but. Want to drill my 125 gallon tank so figured I'd give this a try. Water flows perfectly. Only complaint is the water rushing noise but am going to try to quiet that down. Have tried several power on off cycles to test siphon and it keeps it very well.

Other than missing the foam inserts I can’t complain. I just received my package everything was packaged nicely just wished it had it all

Watch out for leaks
I have had this overflow for about 8 month. First, let me say that the overflow design is fine. It functions very well. With two standpipes, I set mine up as a 'herbie' style overflow for virtually silent operation by ditching the provided internal pipes and mufflers, and just cutting two separate lengths of PVC to replace them. One of the PVC pipes is about 2.5 inches tall for the primary pipe and the second is about 4 inches for the back-up pipe. I won't go into all the details of the rest of the plumbing for the herbie set-up, as it is well documented elsewhere, and easily found with a web search. But the main point is that you can do it with this overflow because it has two bulkheads.I knocked it down to three stars because the overall construction is sub-par. The internal part of the overflow is not acrylic. It is a flimsy plastic material. The nylon screws that hold the two parts together are easily stripped and do not hold the parts together as nicely as I would like. But the real issue with the overflow, which is true of many others as well, is that the bulkheads can leak. I was very careful when I assembled the unit and all of the plumbing. I made sure the bulkheads where properly installed and tightened. It worked great for 8 months then I noticed that it had developed a leak. It is entirely possible that the leak was caused my me, if I jostled the standpipes while adjusting other equipment behind the tank. Even the slightest gap between the gasket and the box can let water through, and though a slow (a few drips per hour) leak will not cause any major issue to a tank, it can still ruin a floor and make a mess. I fixed it be dismantling the whole system and reassembling with new gaskets and a healthy amount of silicone over all the seems on the outside for good measure. Now if you decided to use flexible hose instead of PVC for the plumbing you are much less likely to have issues with leaking, but you are also more likely to have noise issues. I don't know that there is any other overflow on the market which would be better, so if I had to, I would probably buy this product again. But having a drilled tank is still a much better way to go.

Product was easy to setup
Product was easy to setup. I hard plumbed it instead of the flexible hoses, which most use. A simple suck on some airline to prime the syphon in each tube, and it was great. I have a large dc6000 return pump, and this overflow handled 1000 gph easy through the sump. Very quiet and safe upon a power failure. The syphon will not break and flood your place. Thank you eshoppes for another great product.

Misaligned unit
I received what I believe is a used unit there was scratches on it and the bulk heads already had some usage the back piece where the screws were supposed to line up didn’t line up with the acrylic unit as well was sent without the foam too. For an expensive unit everything is wrong.

Bad design
I got the 1200 version. First time doing any product review so you know it must be bad to make me want to do this. First off, it works. It gets water from aquarium to sump. But that’s it. It’s loud, and the biggest issue of all is it leaks! I have spend two days taking it off and on trying to stop leaks (some bad and some that are drips). Silicone everywhere by now on the gasket that doesn’t do anything. How can something this expensive and this critical to a system be so badly made. There has to be no quality control at this company.
