The best kind of lock to protect your bike
This lock was recommended to me by a friend it is very sturdy and the key fits in and turns nicely. The last lock i had jammed very quickly after i brought it and the key would not turn. The one i got is actually silver and black. I have not used the bracket as it does not look strong enough to support the lock and there is no where that it fits on my bike. Overall a very good lock to protect your bike.

Does the job well
Having been the victim of burglary and theft of my very expensive bicycles, the insurance company put the caveat of getting a Gold level Sold Secure lock for my bikes. Fair enough, but normally these things come in at a premium price. Found this on Amazon and was a little sceptical after looking at the price of it and comparing it to other Gold Sold Secure locks. Ordered and when received was pleasantly surprised with all aspects of this. First of the practicality of it; the bar of the lock (D shape) is extended/longer than most others, which makes it a lot more versatile and for me, a much better and more usable lock. It reaches the back wheel and can loop around the frames seat tube with at least an inch or two to spare. Most of the shorter ones have to be manoeuvred into the only position that works for a shorter shackle. The thickness of the bar is such that they would definitely need an angle grinder t get away inside of 20 mins. The lock is such that they will not pick it...forget any idea of that. It does weigh a fair bit and not great for riding around with but, sadly these days it is a necessity. For home/garage/shed use this is a you'll need; it satisfies insurance companies, it is practical, it will work with an anchor point, an outdoor 'immovable object' (iron fence), a looped cable lock for use with these for the rest of the bike to be secured...and in all honesty will mean the weakest point to attack for the scumbags that nick stuff is the frame. Forget any idea of this lock being weak and easily broken - It will take a a fair few tools, some of them electrical and a lot of noise to get away with it so not like the opportunist will get a sniff. Or at least if the chancer has a crack at your kit, you'll have time to get your daps on and give him a crack of your own! Worth a punt and I'm sure glad I did.

Good Solid Lock
The Lock is good quality and hence very heavy. So it needs to be held securely to your bike! The bracket is only good for line up/seating the lock in the place you want. You need to get yourself some Velcro straps or buy a 5m length of Velcro from amazon and cut say 2 strips per bike about 20 inches long or fit them and then cut after a few wraps. Place one above bracket at top and wrap around lock and frame and a second on the D somewhere, so it's nice and secure to your frame. You will then be good to go. 4 stars as they should give you a couple velcro straps with it.

Satisfied feel secure
In my experience, the Master Heavy Duty Bike Lock stands out as a reliable and secure solution for safeguarding bicycles. Constructed with premium materials, its durability instills confidence in its ability to deter theft effectively. The lock's intuitive design facilitates effortless usage, complemented by its compatibility with various bike frames and sizes. Additionally, its weather-resistant coating ensures long-lasting performance, even in adverse conditions. While acknowledging that no lock is entirely impervious, I wholeheartedly endorse the Master Heavy Duty Bike Lock as a highly effective deterrent against theft, making it an essential accessory for cyclists prioritizing bike security.

Ridiculous frameholder
Nice lock in terms of safety and weight. Problem: the holder is way too weak for the bike and the instructions given to install it are minimal. When I cycled along a river, my lock left the holder, bumped on the ground and splashed right into the water. Thus, overall I've spent 25 pounds to use the lock for a single day.

Long, strong, but fiddly
First of all, to make operating the lock a bit more smooth you definitely need to spray some WD-40 or other similar lubricating spray where the bars go into the holes of the lock (and on the ends of the two bars themselves) as well as in the place where you slide your key into the lock. It's still a bit fiddly but overall I do like this lock, particularly its length, which makes locking my bike to railings a cinch. It also feels like a strong, pretty heavy-duty lock to me. I've been using it daily for about 6 weeks. There's only one time that the key wouldn't turn in the lock, which was a bit of a shock, but that was after I'd accidentally put another key into the lock and tried to turn it, which upset the mechanism inside it in some way. Once I'd shaken it a little it worked again. Still, I've never had a lock that did this before, ever. So, would I buy it again? Yes, mainly because of its length, which is hard to find elsewhere. However, would I recommend it to a friend? Only with the reservations I've spelled out here. It is a very heavy lock because of its size. I don't use the bracket for holding it when I ride--I've never found these useful with other locks I've owned as they often break or don't hold a lock snugly. When I bicycle I just carry it on my rack, in the panier, or by sliding it over my handle bars.
