In flashlight geek parlance, the TS12 is a thrower, with a fairly small, intensely bright LED and relatively big reflector that results in a laser-like beam of light. On turbo mode, you can easily spot things hundreds of yards away at night with this. For that reason (along with it's super compact size), I find it a good companion to a floodlight-like headlamp on night hikes. <CRACK!> Is that a grizzly bear over there in the woods?! (Flashlight on turbo) Oh, it's squirrel. I'd prefer the manufacturer gave the option of slightly warmer 5000K (although marginally less bright) version of the LED than the 6500K one that's in use here.. The cold white one makes lotsa glare if there's any mist in the air, and just casts the woods in a chilly and somewhat unappealing light. But boy does it light things up. The light is also great indoors, especially with the plastic diffuser, which can make it like a little portable night light on moon mode, like 60 watt light bulb on turbo, and anywhere in between. Very useful around the house. The light ONLY works with 3.7V 14500 cells. (I tried it unsuccessfully with alkalines, NiMH, lithium primaries and 1.5V lithiums.) That might make it a little less attractive to some, since you can't just get 14500s at any store. However, that lack of flexibility is why this light hits 1350 lumens, while the similar Wurkkos TS15--which can use regular AAs--is dimmer even with 14500s. The light has a USB-C port built in if you don't want to go to the trouble or don't own a separate charger. The UI fairly standard and easy to use, cycling between three main brightness modes by holding down the button, with shortcut access to moon and turbo modes (and the useless but ubiquitous strobe function). There's a way (I think) to switch it to a ramping mode with infinite brightness adjustment, but 5 levels if fine for me. Great, inexpensive compact flashlight.

Phenomenal thrower light, especially for its size. Excellent for spot lighting things that are far away. Not made to be used for more than a brief period on turbo with breaks in between. It gets too hot if you use it to light your path for a prolonged period. I purchased this for my grandma who lives on a big property so she can spot wildlife at night from a distance. There are definitely better thrower lights on the market, but this one is great for how tiny and portable it is.

This little workhorse is extremely well built and very bright for its size, which is super small and convenient. Unlike a lot of flashlights I've used, this one has a beam with a very tight, focused center. It's perfect for long distances where other flashlights would not reach. For close up work, it works as well and can be dimmed to a low level and still provide a lot of light. It came with a silicone diffuser which makes it great for lighting up the immediate area for work or camping. The flashlight comes with accessories and a high quality removable rechargable battery (don't forget to remove the paper protective insulator that ships with the flashlight before you use it) and usb-c port and cable. Wurkkos makes very high quality products and I own quite a few of their lights. The value they provide is amazing compared to most other manufacturers I've seen, and I'm always impressed with the build quality. I'd recommend them highly.

I bought this for reading in bed and for the occasional use when I take my dogs outside in the backyard. I love the size and the fact the light has many brightness levels. The flashlight is well made. The battery is ok when I use it on the lower power level, which I do for reading. However, the battery quickly depletes when using the highest beam level (15 minutes) and it does get heated. It is easy to recharge. I am happy with it for the main purpose for which I purchased it, though.

Absolutely amazing flashlight. The brightness is unbelievable and easily lights up my entire backyard. Feels sturdy in hand and works perfectly. Definitely exceeded my expectations.
