Great insulation for an early generation hard shell
I have an older goretex hard shell (bought in 2007) that used various levels of fleece liners. I work outside a lot throughout the seasons and have various weights of fleece for different conditions. After seeing a lot of the puff jackets decided to see if this could replace one of my fleece jackets with something a little lighter, but the same warmth. I also travel a lot and would rather have a lighter suitcase on winter trips. I took this on a recent trip to the North West and used it as my insulation layer. I’m more than impressed with the result. I stayed comfortably warm and actually had more dexterity with this combination. The lighter weight was also noticeable. The only thing I would change is the size. I ordered an XL and should have bought an L as it seems to run a little big. Looks good but I haven’t had it long enough to evaluate the quality. It doesn’t zip in like the early generation combo outer wear/liners, but works just the same with more options to adapt to changing conditions.

Warmer and less bulky than competitors
Warmer, lighter, and more durable than the Mountain Hardware brand. I have them both, always grab this one.

Cheap feeling quality
Entirely not worth the price. Have had many North Face jackets and this one gets a D- even the full zipper tab is tiny and cheap. Thoroughly disappointing

Slim fit
This is a nice jacket with sharp appearance. I was ordering a size medium and Amazon’s AI assistant strongly suggested I order a size small based on my and others’ ordering history. The jacket was a little too slim though. So, I recommend you order your usual size. I returned it easily and did not order a medium as the excitement of the new jacket wore off. I then googled how to clean nylon shell jackets and cleaned up my old gray North Face jacket. It now looks great (and didn’t cost anything)!

I love TNF Thermoball. Great Autum winter warmth. Pity TNF have dropped this after so many years. Bought to keep in reserve. They last for a few years before I find that the filling starts to pill out of the outer shell, making it look a bit tatty.

Got this jacket for a trip to the snow in Japan. Proved invaluable on the snowfields and in the streets of Tokyo. Kept me warm and dry. Great buy on sale.

A great coat for a trip to the Pacific Northwest in winter! It holds off a light shower, keeps you warm, blocks enough wind, and packs down to a small size.

I'm really happy with the quality size delivery speed and above all the cost which was only $130 saved over $100 at least if I were to buy this at a retail outlet

I'm not sure how many authentic products there are on here (cus theres a lot of fakes) but this seems legit enough. I mean, its warm and if you don't think about it possibly being a rip off then who is to know?
