My New Travel Cooker
I was looking for something that would work in other countries outside the US. This has exceeded my expectations. I figured the 110/220 switch would get me through most situations but now I see it covers 220/240 or 110-130. So, I would say this is the most versatile hot plate cooker I've come across. It smells pretty bad the first time you use it - be warned - open some windows. What I like:- Very small- Relatively light ~2-2.5 lbs- If you're ok with aluminum - it is a very complete set - even includes one spork - nice touch- All the extra pieces are solid and provide an excellent storage/protection for the burner.- I like that the cord wraps around it nicely and tucks cleverly underneath- The aluminum pot and rectangular bowl and very generously sized - easily could do enough cooking for two people.I was concerned it would be slow to boil because of the low wattage - you'll notice it's much lower than a normal single burner. And, I'm not electrician but figured at less than half of the wattage of the competition, it might be slower to boil.We tested it with our normal stainless steel 1Liter travel pot and it boiled water just as quickly as I would have hoped so that was a non-issue.Fingers crossed - I saw online that some frequent travelers were raving about having one of these for years.

Reliable. Dual Voltage. Solid product.
Have had it since 2015 and over the years have used this in hotel rooms across the US and recently took this to Europe for a month long trip. Food allergies mean that eating out is usually not a possibility. This unit worked perfectly at 220V as it does at 110V (There is a little switch at the base to change the voltage); I would give it 5 stars except for the lousy Aluminum cook pot and plastic lid.So, to help those gave the bad review, some tips that I hope will help:- Don’t use the Aluminum cook pot it came it, even boiling water in it takes too long. Instead I use, the MSR Stainless 1.1L steel pot (https://www.amazon.com/MSR-Alpine-Stowaway-Pot-1-1-Liter/dp/B000FBSZGU/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1528060668&sr=1-1&keywords=MSR%2BAlpine%2B1.1&th=1&psc=1) The stove fits perfectly inside, and the lid makes sure that heating milk\water or cooking goes MUCH faster. Am going to use it on the Toaks Titanium pot and will update here on how that goes (the Stove really is solid, if you change the cooking pot, it does work well)- Water & Milk heat up within one cycle; Boiling 1 egg usually took the same time. I just leave it in the hot water for a bit (mostly because am running around) and its perfectly boiled.- When making tea, chai or coffee - and if you add milk to the water while it is heating, you will have to watch it else it will boil over (even the 1 cycle) - Wish this thing came with a temperature control.- Cooking noodles, or if you are making Rice (I do a Rice+quinoa+lentil or veggie mix) takes about 2-3 cycles of the pot turning it self off and then back on. Its a protective mechanism to avoid it over heating. Just leave it alone, once it cools down for a few minutes it will turn itself back on.The plastic bowl & spoon is useful, the lid doesn’t “fit” so I usually use an elastic band to keep it on the bowl. Spices in zip lock bags go inside. Salt and butter you can usually find at any hotel. With this travel stove, eating on the road is limited by whats in the local supermarket, your patience and imagination.Hope this helps others with food allergies who are on the road a lot.

Great product, convenience and fast shipping
Never put comment on any website, but this product is a must. I used to own the Sanyo brand and excited to find this one on Amazon. It's compact, easy to use, perfect for traveling.I needed to travel with my infant and don't want to use the coffee maker in the hotel room to sterilize the bottle and parts. Specially my baby like the milk warm, so hot boiling water from this product is just perfect to warm the bottle fast. Besides many hotel rooms have switched from the glass pot to single serve coffee maker already.Because I need it within a week, so I pay for the expedited shipping. Vola, I got it in 4 business day. The customer service is great and they guaranteethe product will arrive on time. Will definitely contact this seller if I need any Japanese product in the future.

It is not made in Japan but China
This cooker is cute , small and light. but i have concern about the little pot , it looks like tin or aluminium to me, so i use a small stainless steel pot to cook, but the top of the cooker is not flat, the bottom of my small pot can't fully sit on the cooker, it takes about 15mins to boil 2-3 cups of water. the product emanating plastic odor when it is on. i am very disappointed because the quality is not really good & this is not made in Japan but China.

Very nice, but limited use.
Exactly what I wanted, and works well. However, the instructions are in Japanese - needs a set of English instructions. CAUTION! The unit arrived set for 220 V. The only clue is a little pictorial that shows how to set for local voltage. I don't know how the circuitry is arranged, but normally running a resistive heating element at half the voltage will draw twice the current - that will burn it out!Boiled 2 cups water in under 10 minutes.Only works with the provided pot. The heating element is domed, so when I put a small camping SS pot on the unit, the pot rocked. In fact, it may not be a resistive heating element. It may be an induction element, because the heating element actually kept the pot rocking! Rather weird, and potentially dangerous.
