The figures are good, just hope I can do them justice
I didn't realise they had to be assembled and painted. That's ok but think this should be made clearer to the novice buyer. The figures are good, just hope I can do them justice.

Perry's range of plastic figures are THE benchmark for 28mm miniature figure sculpts!
Perry Miniatures plastic 28mm figures are superlative in every sense of the word, they have set a benchmark for quality in the plastic figures / modelling / gaming world. There are 40 figures in this boxset. They are multi-part figures on plastic sprue and will require cutting out and assembly with the kind of plastic glue used to assemble kits like Airfix, Revel, Italeri tanks and planes. Each figure is a torso and legs. Arms, weapons and heads are attached separately. The beauty of this system is that instead of having a uniform, regimental-looking army of identical toy soldiers, you can assemble these figures in a wide variety of poses and weapons, giving a far more realistic look to your finished army. Or you can assemble them to all be fairly uniform and regimental, if that's your thing, the choice is yours! The figures also come wit a set of instructions and useful tips, which should be read before assembling them, especially if you've never done it before. For example, it's important that pairs of arms match up when assembling them, especially if holding two-handed weapons like billhooks or pikes. Archers should also not wear any helmet or hat with a wide brim as this would have interfered with drawing back the bowstring. The instruction guide explains all these kinds of things, and includes a few printed banners for the Wars of the Roses that you can cut out and add to your finished army. With 40 figures per box, you can quickly assemble large armies to paint or wargame. The figures in this box represent typical levied soldiers of the period 1450 - 1500. While they are perfect for gaming Wars of the Roses, you could use them in other European conflicts of the same era easily with a few adaptions. You can add them to other box sets in the Perry Range, such as the European Mercenaries, Mounted Men at Arms and so on, to create all kinds of different armies. Extra weapons, arms, heads are supplied so you can focus on creating more archers or poll-axe men. English armies of the period tended to have archers in ratios of 3:1 and even 4:1 in relation to other troop types.Kit bashing & conversions:After assembling these figures you will have parts left over: arms, weapons, heads and so on - don't throw them out!! They are perfect for customizing other Perry Miniature kits or added to battlefield dioramas and so on. As the figures are 'hard' plastic (it's not really hard hard - it's just called hard plastic because its harder than the kind of soft plastic often used on small 1:72 scale miniatures like World War Two Airfix or Revell, and can be easily glued with normal plastic cement glue you get in hobby shops) you can do a lot of conversions and 'kit bashing' as well. You can mix-and-match these figures from other medieval miniatures in the Perry range, and even with 28mm plastic Lord of the Rings figures that were released by Games Workshop years ago (these were also sculpted by the Perrys, I believe) to make fantasy armies, so the only limit is your imagination. I have even modified these figures to create casualties, sailors, cart drovers, army laborers digging defensive ditches or protective wooden stake fences by using leftover pieces from other manufacturers and sets (including Fireforge games and Northstar) - the same 28mm scale works well throughout.I've attached two pics of some of my own efforts: the first showing the unpainted figures assembled, the other showing a painted regiment on the battlefield. An ideal ruleset to go with these figures is "Never Mind the Billhooks (deluxe)" by Andy Callan
