Up and running 5 minutes out of the box
This review is about the Sabrent Wireless HDMI Transmitter and Receiver.I have been stream casting to a Roku stick from a Windows computer for some time now and have gotten reasonably good at moving the computer to find a "sweet spot" that does not drop out as much. Now upgrading to a Linux computer and wanted a reliable streaming option as well.I found it.The Sabrent wireless system is far better than the mirror-cast systems because it simply works without messing around with placement. Literally plug and play. As long as I was in the same room, I could not get it to glitch or drop out. Sure, it requires a short extra cord plugged into the laptop side, but this "dongle" is literally just a cord. How can they make such a thing in a cord with HDMI on one end and USB on the other? Now, as for gamers.... The way I look at it, you can choose extremely short delay, low latency but get drop-outs.Or, you can accept a very small delay such as the Sabrent and get a stable connection. Really, if latency is an issue, just get a cord. But as for me and my house, I am happy to watch Ewe-Tube and Who-Lose from the convenience of a laptop computer.Just to clarify - the Sabrent is a proprietary system. You must use their components to feed HDMI to a display. It is generic - feeds just about any 1080 HDMI source to a monitor, LED wall, projector.Recommended - it works very well. Just don't get it mixed up with your regular patch cords.------ Update -----After using the wireless HDMI system a month, I wanted to update on the performance. Hardly a day goes by that the system goes to a black screen for about 5 seconds, displays the firmware version, and then continues. This is with the distance between TX and RX less than 12 feet. While not a huge problem for me at home, it would be a serious problem if used in a public setting. I suspect that it may be changing channels. If so, it would not get better in a venue. While the overall smoothness is better than Miracast, the 5 second black screen is bothersome. I still like the Sabrent for devices that cannot natively do Miracast, I just wish it would not switch so much.

Works great and better than other similar products
Works perfectly.I’d bought a device that you could plug a phone charger into to keep your battery from draining; that worked for about 3 weeks… This one on the other hand is far better in that it’s better designed and there’s also less to go wrong.

So far so good
I'm typically leery of this type of product, but it has worked pretty well so far. I use it for streaming the video out from a camera or phone to my computer for video capture. There was 1 time that I had to re-pair it, but the instructions were easy to find and it might have been caused by my weird testing setup. One upgrade I'd like to see is it getting powered directly from the HDMI connection instead of USB. Oh and a built in capture card would be awesome, but that's would probably be a product built only for my use case. It's only been a month though, so I'll update this review if it brakes.

They work just as advertised!!
These completely worked as advertise. just plugged them in and they worked immediately, through a solid concrete wall too. I wish these had been around a long time ago.

Great product, super simple
So easy to use, literally just plug and play. I have it hooked up to my desktop in one room, to project to a TV in another room. It’s perfect.

Does not lose connection.
I can connect my laptop with 2 monitors without a doc station! This little adapter is awesome! I recommend it. It does the job well.

Linux works out of the box
It's been about a month or 2 and one has already died. The usb isn't transmitting power. I'm going to take it apart or splice it but as of now it's dead. Reduced to a 3 star because I don't know if this is a one off or a patternUpdate: just bought a second one. Works great. They do not seem to pair up so don't worry about one device trying to connect to others in the house. My wife uses one on a flat screen on the wall as a display for home-school and I have mine connected to the TV in my living room so I can stream while working. Extended monitor support or screen mirroring.Simple and worked out of the box on ubuntu and parrotOS 🦜 (I'm assuming it'll work on most).
