The media could not be loaded. I really like this pedal exerciser from Zilchx but there are what are to me some obvious areas for improvement that could easily be added. What I like most about this exerciser is that is has a motor that moves the pedals to the speed as set on the machine – this means you just rest your feet on the pedals and the machine moves your legs for you – don’t let this make you think that you therefore do not get a workout then as you do. Another benefit of this over manual pedal exercisers is that with it being automated it means the machine moves about on the floor far less. You can control the machine by pressing the buttons on the machine itself or by using the remote control (2 x AAA batteries required – not supplied). The machine has 12 speed levels that can be selected when in manual mode or 3 programmes that change the speed and direction per the program selected through the 30 minutes. Direction can also be changed between forwards and backwards in manual mode. Machine runs for 30 minutes and then stops in manual or auto programme mode. The areas for improvement I mentioned above are as follows:- There does not seem to be a button to reset the stats i.e. step count, calorie count etc only when powered off for a few minutes- There does not seem to be a button to stop the machine display from scanning through step count, speed level, calories burned etc – would prefer if you could also select one of the measurements, i.e. time remaining, and keep on that for the full workout- There is not a power off button that cuts power to the machine – the only way is to cut the mains power to the machine – the standby button does not seem to put the machine in standby as the display is still fully lit and even after left for 30 mins in this mode it does not cut the power

Brilliant tool for elderly and rehabilitation.
Firstly, I wouldn't recommend this Zilchx elliptical pedal exerciser for people who are generally mobile and are looking to increase cardio and fitness at home, such as to burn calories watching TV or at work. In my opinion, this is most suited for sedentary people and the elderly. I would also describe it more as a “stepping" machine than a cycling one.Simply put, this machine is motorised, so the pedals move entirely by themselves. You sit your feet on top, and your legs get forced into a small cycling motion. My father mostly sits in a chair all day due to mobility restrictions and I ordered this to help improve his circulation and balance and to get his muscles moving. My father loves this and it's a hit with him. It’s very low impact and requires little physical effort. We like the adjustable settings so you can start off at a gentle speed but can increase it to mobilise joints and muscles faster. My father really feels his leg muscles working with this machine, and the entire lower half of his body was being tested by the stepping movements provided. The machine itself exceeded my expectations, especially in terms of build quality and features. It’s ergonomically designed especially for the elderly, as it comes with a remote to carry out most functions, so you don’t have to bend down to adjust the setting or start the machine. It’s also easy to carry with the handles provided. This runs quietly on gentle levels, so it’s suitable for apartments as it doesn't make much noise. My favourite feature is that you can set a pre-loaded programme based on speed and let it run. These programmes switch up the speed and direction for you without having to adjust anything, which provides a varying exercise to keep challenging the legs.Onto the negatives:The biggest downside to this machine is only being able to adjust the speed and not adjust resistance. So, when I wanted to use it for strength and cardio training purposes, I couldn't make pedalling more challenging by increasing the effort required to spin the pedals. This is why I don’t think it’s great for “working out,” as no pushing or strength is required to move the pedals.Additional issues I found are that the electric cord provided is short – it’s only about a metre long, so you may need an extension cable to use this in your preferred location. In summary, this machine has many positives, and overall, I'm impressed; however, it needs to find its target audience and commit to it fully, as this seems to be also targeting home workers wanting to become more active, and I believe people in this demographic, like myself, would be disappointed if it was ordered for this purpose. For my elderly father, though, it’s been a valuable and well-appreciated tool, and it’s great to see he enjoys using it.

Very quiet, display is informative, great product.
Like so many of us, I haven't been active enough during the pandemic. I bought this in hopes that it would induce me to get the exercise I need. I've been using it for about a week, and I am thrilled! It gives me about the same exercise as a recumbent bike I previously owned.
