Too simple for being a cheap one, get something else
Bad clone that does not work with old 2nd Gen priuses. Limited capabilities compared to others of same price. Piece of junk. Returning.

When it connects it works fine
It seams to take it a while to connect to your phone or maybe it’s just me

Worked great with my iPhone for my 2011 Prius.
I just finished using this for the first time. I have an android but prefer iPhone, so I used my iPhone/iOS with the "Car Scanner ELM OBD2" free app from the apple store. It worked flawlessly. I was able to easily connect to the scanner (Note: you have to connect to the WiFi SSID created by the plugged-in scanner) & then clear my ABS diagnostic error code (after fixing what caused the code, of course)It was also shipped very quickly so that was nice.

Not recommended. Generates error codes on car display when car is started and device is plugged in
As a test, connected the device to car then started the engine. When the car was doing the routine check, it started to display error on car screen: "check automatic transmission" . At the same time, a clicking noise 1 second apart started to pop under the car, while lights in radio started to flicker at the same time of the clicks. Same error displayed after turning the car on and off several times. But then realized that the error will not come up, and car diagnostic would show an "OK" when the car was started with the device unplugged. Did several tests with device plugged and unplugged, and same results every time as stated above. Then read on the internet that this behavior happened with some of the cheaply made ELM devices that could mess with the car's computer while the engine was on, and that for these, the recommendation was to do the readings with the engine off, and the car on, which is sad, since doing the readings with the engine on, and car warm, can provide additional details. Giving two stars because tested with engine off but car on, and seems to do the readings.

Mixed reactions, works for the purpose but not for long term monitoring.
While it does work. The setup and usage of this adapter is rather confusing and can be a bit frustrating, at least for my vehicle. I connected the device to the OBDII port and scanned for Bluetooth. Much to my surprise I found nothing. Instead there was a WiFi connection node called OBDII WiFi. I connected to that. My phone alerted me there was no internet and asked if I wanted to connect anyways. I had to dismiss that message to get the device to register. I was able to get it to detect with "CAR SCANNER" application & It worked as intended. Unfortunately the 2nd part of my woes came when I did a scan to read recent fault codes. I was able to find and clear some "Dash reading" errors that came up and the message went away. I tried again a bit later to look at some other engine vitals, while I had the engine running I was getting further fault errors from my vehicle, those did not cease until after I unplugged the OBDII reader. This clearly isn't a tool intended to be left installed while driving around or in my case it'll cause more check engine lights as your driving. While this is a useful diagnostic tool, when installed it doesn't appear to be practical due to the errors it generates.

Works good.
I plugged this in and my phone saw it. It was easy to get connected and up and running with Torque. I have had no problems with connectivity, once connected it seems to stay connected.
