TIKKID Headlamp for Children - Blue

Excellent product. I have a PETZL headlamp that I use every night to read books to my son. So naturally he wanted his own. I purchased this lamp for Christmas. He loves it and I am blown away by the quality. It has a cute glow in the dark feature that shines fairy bright once the light is turned off. I highly recommend this lamp for your kids.

Good headlamp for a kid. Bright enough for them to be able to see at night. I wish it came with two bright settings and a red light setting like the adult version but for the price you pay it’s good.

Great kids head lamp! It isn't all that bright but as it will definitely get shined in your face that is probably a good thing. The color is fun and the battery lasts forever

Lamp itself is great, but the strap adjustment clip that comes with it doesn’t work well. It doesn’t hold very strong and doesn’t allow enough tension in the strap to keep it secure on your kids’ head. The strap slips through it with barely any tension. I replaced it using a couple strap adjusters (1” tri-glide slides) that i bought separately and hand-sewed in place. I ended up trimming off about 2” of the strap in the process. Now it is much more secure and fully adjustable like a regular headlamp strap. It can be adjusted large enough for me (Dad) to wear if I wanted to, but can be made tight enough to fit our almost 2-year-old. I like the child-friendly features (not too bright, glows in the dark after light is turned off, batteries only accessible by screwdriver, auto-shutoff to save battery), BUT I would only recommend if you want to modify the strap adjustment system. The strap functions poorly out of the box.

Love these headlamps but found defective rate is quite high. I originally got two of these but had to exchange my daughters because the lamp had a dead area. Credit to Petzl CS who responded to me immediately when I made an inquiry to see if it was something I could troubleshoot myself and even included a shipping label with their response to have the unit fixed. Unfortunately, I didn't have several weeks for the turnaround and ended up doing a much quicker exchange through Amazon. My daughters new unit has another set of defects but I'm just going to live with it - the screw top to access the batteries has two off-center holes drilled in the plastic cover instead of one centered hole, thus the lid is always a bit loose. I don't even think its IPX rated at this point. Several weeks later it appears my son's unit is also defective as it does not auto shutoff after one hour per the specs, instead it just stays on until the battery is completely drained. So every unit I have received even after an exchange has been defective in one way or another. Another minor issue is that the adjustable clamp is sorta weak. It cannot hold the tension as well as the adult Petzl bands. My kids always complained they cannot jump or run around with their headlamps because it will just fall right down. Overall, I'm still happy to have these they are great for keeping track of my kids at night when camping and even the night time dog walks. I love that these weren't too bright for young eyes and when they shine their lights in MY eyes I'm not blinded either. For $25 each, I just expected much better quality control from Petzl.

Hard to find a good headlamp for young kids and toddlers: they're going to look at everyone's faces, and shine their headlamps in everyone's faces, it's hard enough for grownups to not do this. Your child does not need 300 lumens to find a thing in your tent or campground; 4 lumens is enough, twenty is plenty. Its diffuser lens helps to keep from blinding others, while its flood angle still provides more than enough light in its center zone for your kids to see what they're looking for. It's got a low-light mode, high-light mode, and a flashing mode that's slow and soft. The lens has a little glow-in-the-dark which helps find it in the dark for several minutes after use. It'd be nice if it had a red light mode. It'd be nice if it could be parent-locked into a low-light or red-light mode. Screw closure can help keep batteries locked in, but bottom hinge could use some reinforcement. I don't think it'll hold up to more than a few dozen good toddler throws. Strap attachment is good for small heads. Edges might get uncomfortable on larger or flatter foreheads. Takes multiple AAA batteries. A low-lumen headlamp should not need more than 1 AAA. I am the only person in the world who understands this, and I do not work for Petzl, so we are never going to see a 1-AAA kids headlamp. While there's a few things that could use improvement in some mythical future design, the thing a kids' headlamp really needs is reliably low lumen output. This is the one kids' headlamp that actually does that one most important thing. So. Totally five stars.

My daughter loves it. The line after you turn the light off is a great feature. The head band is a little wonky, but videos on YouTube to fix issues. Really nice light for the price.

We have bought 3 of these now for our kids and there is only one left working.
