Unbreakable W10861225 W10714516 Replacement Door Handle for Whirlpool Appliance Dryer, Compatible for Amana, Crosley, Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore and Roper

This replacement door handle was a perfect match for my 2016 Whirlpool Dryer #WED4815EW1. Fairly easy to install. Color matched perfectly, and the door functions properly again. Excellent quality, I doubt this handle will ever break.

My old dryer had the same handle for years. About a year and a half ago, the original handle broke and I bought one from Amazon. Easy install, but it lasted about 9 months. Picked up another one, with "Unbreakable" in the description, and that lasted about 9 months. Picked this one up, and it was a little bit tighter of a fit, requiring a little force to install it (these just snap into place, with a few plastic tabs to hold them). I am hoping with the tighter fit, there is a little less movement and therefore less stress on the retaining tabs and it will last longer. It does feel a bit sturdier than the last one, so here is hoping it is. Great fit, looks just like the original, and works, just hoping it lasts longer than 9 months. Check back on my feed around June or July 2024 for details (Hopefully not any sooner though).

It fit very tightly and was rigid and strong once installed but it wasn't easy and requires a bit of strength to seat properly. I actually had to flex it slightly to snap into place. Good material, color, quality perhaps better than OEM. I was afraid I might break it but was careful and success! This part is the same on a whole lot of dryers and it's held in place by alignment tabs and snaps. Generally it's the snaps that break off so that's the weak link (my dryer door has a couple tabs inside it but they don't rattle around and I didn't feel like disassembling the door to retrieve them. I suppose if the handle breaks enough times that could be an issue but I think this handle should last the life of the dryer?) Gotta love capitalist ingenuity for built-in obsolescence eh? YMMV

Very sturdy, reliable, great price.

I bought this as a replacement for our Whirlpool dryer. Functionally it fits snuggly and works great. My only gripe is that the color is off. It looks almost faded, maybe like a light almond color. I would have thought that our original would have looked more faded but it looks more pure white than the replacement. It's not a deal breaker for me. It works and my wife is happy with it. I have included a photo of this along with our original one. The original one is on top and as you can see it looks whiter. (The bottom one looks bigger but I can assure you it fit the tang openings perfectly).
