Ice Cubes are Back
Purchased new defrost heater due to its burning out. Ice cubes were fused together to create one solid mass. Be aware of the numbers printed along side of thermostat. Kit termination had L140-30F. Much too hot. Replaced now with the Bluestar defrost termination with L60-32F printed on the side. Everything is much better. Ice cubes are back. Its been a painstaking process.

Defrost Limiter and some explanations
For defrost limiter with specification L60-32F.Explanation for the number:First number (L60) means at 60oF (15.6oC), defrost limiter is an opened circuit, cannot measure electrical resistance.Second number (32oF) is the difference in temperature between open and close circuit for defrost limiter. At 28oF (60oF – 32oF = 28oF or -2.2oC), defrost limiter is closed circuit, electrical resistance less than 1 ohmHow defrost limiter works (based on my reading since I am not a refrigerator repairman):When refrigerator goes through the defrost cycle, the defroster is turned on. The defroster heats up and melts the ice around the evaporator tubes. The defroster turns on or off during the defrost cycle is controlled by the defrost limiter. At the start of defrost cycle, the freezer is cold, temperature less than 28oF. The defrost limiter is closed circuit, the defroster is turned on and heat up. It melts the ice (defrost) around the evaporator coil. When temperature reaches 60oF, the defrost limiter circuit is opened. The defroster is turned off. Temperature is cool down until it reaches 28oF, the defrost limiter is closed circuit, the defroster is turned back on and heat up again. The process of on and off repeats, the defroster turned on at 28oF and turn off at 60oF until the defrost cycle is completed.Hope my understanding of defrost limiter is correct. :-)

Sometimes reveals additional problems
More than once I've replaced the bi-metal defrost thermostat because it continuity tested as open when frozen only to have to return and replace the control board too. I am assuming the original bi-metal went bad and ruined the board as it died?

Solved a freezer overheat problem
For many years, the temperature in the freezer compartment of my side by side refrigerator has reached as high as 50F during the defrost cycle. I assume that years ago a repairman replaced the thermostat switch with the wrong part, and I have attempted to fix the problem by replacing that part with the same part number. Also, I've had to replace the defrost heater several times, probably because of the excessive temperature. Recently, I replaced the heater, and it came with a thermostat. Unfortunately, I continued to have the same overheat problem. I decided to look up the part for my refrigerator, and discovered that I was putting in the wrong part. After I installed the WR50X122, the problem was fixed. Now the high temperature is 30F.

Failed Within A Year
I purchased this in August 2020. It failed within a year. I contacted the company and they informed me that it was out of warranty. I was disappointed. The original OEM part lasted a long time, maybe decades. I would not expect the replacement part to fail so quickly. I'll be looking for another vendor/manufacturer for the next one.
