My husband and I have gotten pretty bad about having conversations from opposite ends of the house, and it’s wearing on my throat and voice. I’ve never been a fan of cough drops — except for Luden’s wild cherry 😋 — bc I absolutely loathe menthol; they’re always way too strong for me: it’s like eating Vick’s Vapor Rub! I was tickled when I found these: Ricola is a trusted brand, and caramel & real honey cough drops!? Yes, please! When they arrived I opened one right away and the second it was in my mouth, I panicked. I looked at the bag and there it was: peppermint. I’m normally very thorough about reading the details, but it’s actually good that I wasn’t thorough with these, bc I love them! The caramel & honey are delicious, and they downplay the mint really well. I have NEVER finished a cough drop that contained peppermint or menthol before: I’ve had 4 of these in 4 hours! I was surprised by how much better my throat felt after the 1st one; it felt like I’d had a cup of herbal tea w/a lot of honey. After the shock of mint wore off, I realized that the caramel flavor was really good: also, I began to notice that the achy, scratchy parts of my throat were beginning to feel better. My favorite part is the honey center, which is ‘licious of course, but I could feel it coating the irritated parts of my throat. Another thing I loved about these is their size: I have a very small mouth, and these don’t take up too much real estate: they’re less than an inch long. “Throat Balm” is a great descriptor for these lil’ helpers: also, they’re gluten-free and vegetarian.

After a serious cough that had me twisting in pain and that injured my throat lining, these were the only lozenges that actually helped. They soothe, they don’t have menthol (which irritated my already irritated throat, not to mention i hate the taste), the honey center is a nice bonus, they taste good, and they are inexpensive compared to many other brands. So I’m keeping these in my medicine cabinet for next time.

Great because they relieve a dry throat and address a mild cough. The surface smooth and doesn’t cut my mouth like some drops do. They are well made, the right size and delicious.

These are the best cough drops for me because I hate the medicine menthol cough drops that burn my tongue no matter what flavor I get - these are Finally cough drops that do not have that burning medicine menthol yet soothe your throat with such a pleasant sweet honey flavor. Where have they been all of my life? These are the only ones I’m going to buy going forward.

Overall, I’d rate these about 4.5 out of 5 stars for flavor + comfort + convenience. If you’re looking for a daily-use throat drop that tastes good and gives some light soothing relief, these are a strong pick. If you need strong medicinal relief (for infection/inflammation), you’ll need something stronger or prescription level.
