Marvel's Spider-Man: The Art of the Game

I couldn't resist buying this book on sale, and I'm glad that I did. The artwork is great, the layout is thoughtful, and it offers a lot of unique insights into the game's stylistic choices. I totally recommend it, albeit with one caveat. Other reviewers have mentioned that pages can be glued together, usually around the edges. They've speculated that the excess glue came from the binding process, and probably splashed and sloshed where it shouldn't be. I assumed they were right, but decided to take my chances. Sure enough... glue damage. Two sets of pages were glued together on the edges. One set of pages came apart with no visible damage, and the other set of pages came apart with some damage to the bottom of a page. Two centimeters wide by 3 millimeters tall of Peter Parker's ratty apartment is now no more. But... it's Peter's god-awful apartment, so I'm kind of indifferent. If anything, I think it adds to the theme of bachelorhood vileness. So, I have no real complaints. Still, I wanted to warn you out of courtesy. You might get unlucky with your excess glue allotment. If you buy this, check every page before the return period lapses. Otherwise, you might have a very unhappy surprise years later when you crack it open.

If you collect art books (Like I do), are an artist looking at reference from the absolute best working in the industry (as I do), know someone that loves Spider-Man or are just interested in what went into this magical work of art of a game, then this book is something you likely also need in your life. It's a work of art itself. Cover to cover. This game is a masterpiece, so is this art book.

I gave this too my husband who loves spiderman and he liked it! If youre a spiderman fan and like art id recommend checking it out.

I am a comic book fan in general, but especially when it comes to Spider-man. Naturally, I was super excited to receive Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-man (and have been playing it non-stop!). When I go in for collector's editions of games, I am usually most excited about the art book. Surprisingly, Insomniac's Collector's Edition was a bit lackluster, but I still wanted the art book, and this book is gorgeous. It richly captures all of the behind scenes work, from blue prints and sketches to screen captures of in-game action. I've only attached a few pictures so as not to reveal any characters you may not have encountered yet, and I added an additional photo for size comparison to other game art books. This book (and the game) are 10 for 10!!

This is an odd size, doesn't line up well other art books

Had to order it on the United States Amazon website because it's not available in my country, I was scared it would be damaged on the way but it was perfectly handled. Huge Spider-Man fan here, this artwork is amazing. Love it, love the game as well.

Lots of concept arts and pictures for fans of the game. Comes with a sleeve that you can take off, exposing the Spidey symbol. I really like this art book, both from gaming perspective and as a Spider-Man fan.
