Acrylic Painting Mediums and Methods: A Contemporary Guide to Materials, Techniques, and Applications

Brilliant book by a brilliant publisher. Informative in a way so superior to any thing else available.

This is one of those books with something useful in every paragraph along with examples and suggestions for further experimentation. The author really knows her subject and provides a lot of good solid advice on how these materials behave. Theres very little of the try a little of this and that, much more this is what this actually does. This is the only book I have seen that clearly explains the what and how of this complex subject.I would say this is one of the best, clearest instruction type manuals I have read in a very long time. Please remember, as the title clearly states, acrylic mediums are the focus not the paint per se - though of course she mixes them with paint. If you are after a book about acrylic painting only then this is not that book.

This bookcovers everything it says in its name. I have not finished reading it yet, but I have learnt so much. At one point I felt the book would not help me as the writers style is so different from mine. As you read on there are examples of how the mediums can be used by all styles. Well worth the money.

A good source of reference which I refer to often.

In a book about acrylic painting medium, one would expect some recipes for making diy mediums. The book only describes what is commercially available and some techniques about how to use those mediums. That is fine for absolute beginners. But for someone, who has painted with acrylics, for years, the content is very limited.
