Review: Dr Rupy’s best book so far - I wasn’t expecting the book to contain so much content and recipes, but I should’ve known better considering Dr Rupy’s previous books. And this is by far his best book to date. Dr Rupy explains the importance of protein going beyond just muscle repair. He shares 3 core pillars to use for building a healthy high protein plate; in all my struggles of knowing whether I’m eating well, this bit of guideline has pieced all of it together for me. The book has been put together so well. The content in the book is evidence based and all the pictures are beautiful! There are lots of tasty looking recipes for food and drink. So far, I’ve tried the salmon tikka bowl; it was as delicious as it looks. My copy of the book arrived with a bit of damage to the front and back cover, so I’m exchanging it. However, this doesn’t detract from the quality of the book and it would be unfair to give it anything less than the 5 stars it deserves.

Dr Rupy’s best book so far

best recipe book ive bought
I was put off initially as some of the ingredients id never heard of, but they were easily sourced and not too expensive. Every recipe ive tried I have loved, so tasty. The meals and quick and effortless in a lot of cases, and im now hitting my protein goals easily without the need for shakes or powders. Some of the recipes are calorific but because portion sizes are generous and have a really good balance of fibre protein and fats-im always full and have stopped snacking- i've actually lost weight and feel much healthier. My energy levels are much more consistent. Even the kids have liked the recipes

Brilliant recipes, not so good recipe index
This is a really fabulous cook book and I’ve made absolutely loads of recipes. The book would be even better if the index was more comprehensive- for example if you have a key ingredient (eg salmon)and you want to find a recipe that uses it, you can’t just look up all the ‘salmon’ based recipes in the index - I didn’t realise how often I use this function in other recipe books until it was missing in this one! I hope Dr Rupy produces more cook books as I’ve really enjoyed this one!

Inspiration and brilliance, with simplicity
Truly inspirational. I watched Dr Ruby Aujla on Morning Live this morning. As a true clinical professional and an NHS GP his clinical knowledge and understanding of food extremely knowledgable as a researcher with his craft. I bought four books straight away for myself and family members to support protein and inflammatory in the system. The books came and I was absolutely delighted, how the book is written. Professional and intelligent approach, yet simple for a lay person to follow and understand. Absolutely well worth the money and I will be buying all his other books based on this one. Plus I have many cook books by professional chefs, cooks etc., this book another level because you also know the clinical excellence behind the full flavour and knowledge of the ingredients to our system. Brilliance, without any hesitation, I would buy over and over again for presents too. More orders to come…

My book of the year
I received this book yesterday and it looks fantastic. I’ve started to read the nutrition advice at the beginning of the book which is really accessible, highly informative and well-researched. There are quite a few recipes containing meat or fish and seafood which I don’t eat, but this should increase the appeal of the book for a wider market. There are plenty of great plant-based recipes. I made the overnight protein porridge with cinnamon, turmeric and cacao, served with berries, nut butter and kefir and it tasted amazing. Each recipe states protein, fibre and plant points which is so useful. Excellent book.

Awesome recipe book full of healthy, simple, easy recipes with great introductory information!
Awesome! This book is so good, that I had to buy one for my mum too. Loads of great healthy recipes that look pretty simple and quick to make, perfect for new meal ideas. The introductory info is extremely useful too. I follow Dr Rupy's podcast and am signed up to his newsletter, I've learnt so much and it's great to have a trustworthy source for information on so many health and lifestyle topics, I suggest him to all my friends and family - thanks Rupy! :)

Didn't help me lose weight
I'm vegetarian and had hoped that if I made a meal plan for 3 weeks using just the recipes (and quantities) from this book, it would help me increase my protein and fibre intake and help me feel fuller for longer and also lose some weight. The recipes are delicious but I found I didn't manage to lose any weight and just stayed the same. There are some tasty recipes but no calories are given (difficult if you want to keep an eye on calories). Some of the ingredients used are ones I'd never heard of before and I had to order them online.
