Fits tightly enough to be out in a wind. Easily packed in an suitcase and not hard to reshape after travel. I usually wear a visor, so my head does get a bit hot. That may be normal for hats in general. Great buy for the money.

This hat is so comfortable and cute! I wear it gardening, walking the dogs, and by the pool. I'm going to Florida in a couple weeks and can't imagine sitting on the beach without it! I like that the band around the head is adjustable and that it comes with an optional strap for windy days. I've gotten chlorine on the brim and there's been no color change or lingering chlorine smell. I can wear it for hours and stay comfortable. The weave of the hat is thicker, so it isn't incredibly breathable. I imagine that if you tend to sweat a lot that it might be less comfortable.

I ordered this during the winter when I discovered I'd lost my favorite straw hat. None online compared to my previous hat except this one. I have very short hair so haven't decided what creative use I will make of the pony tail hole in the back. The hat is sturdy, tightly woven and the brim ample enough to shade face, neck and narrow shoulders. The black ribbon definitely gives it some bizazz. Winter has been a drag. Wearing this hat as I write is a nice diversion. I think this is the sturdiest, long-lasting summer hat I've seen.The aspect of getting a fake pony tail or cheerful artificial sunflower for the back is tempting.

I took this fun hat to the beach this summer, my first time in OBX! I am fair skinned and burn easily, like borderline vampire (hiss). I stick to a strict skin care routine and sun protection is priority. (It's frowned upon to bathe in the blood of my enemies) ANYWAY the hat is super cute and offers a wide, floppy brim that's both stylish and protective. The ponytail feature is so convenient and actually helped anchor the hat to my head in the ocean wind. It folds up easily to fit in a beach bag. Overall, I love it and look forward to using it again next summer!

I got this hat because I needed a replacement sun hat. I have had skin cancer spots on my face in the past and try to be careful about exposure to the sun. This hat is stylish and provided great sun protection at the same time. I particularly like how there is a place to adjust the circumference of the hat on the inside by tightening or loosening a hidden ribbon. I did not know that was one of the features before ordering, so this was a pleasant surprise. In the wind, this feature is essential to keep from loosing the hat! It also has a removable chin strap, for added versatility. The buckles on that strap don't seem very sturdy, but I also don't think I would use it much anyway. I look forward to putting into production as we enter the summer months.

I like this hat because it offers sun protection and I can loop my pony tail through the back of the hat.This hat is uncomfortable to wear it squishes down and puts pressure on my ears. It’s not like a baseball hat that rests against your skull and doesn’t top the top part of your ear. I don’t know if my ears are super pointy and if I’m a gremlin or if this hat would bother everyone.I’d rather have sun protection around my face and neck and wear this hat and squish my ears for a while than wear a baseball cap that doesn’t offer as much shade.This hat is very lightweight, easy to fold and pack in a suitcase, and the hat bounces back to shape even after being folded up. I didn’t need to adjust the size of the hat, but you can tighten the hat to fit your head. The hat also comes with straps that you can add on a windy day to prevent the hat from flying away. IThe price is very reasonable for a useful hat that protects against the sun. I’d recommend buying it.Con: this hat is not very stiff and will blow up and onto your face if you are somewhere windy. That can be pretty annoying after a while so consider buying a sunhat which is more rigid and will not blow around.*Update as of 9/20/22: If you have any questions or issues about this hat, I recommend contacting customer service. I ordered this hat in Brown straw to wear on an upcoming trip to Southern Italy. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hat, especially for the price. Inside the sweat band is a drawstring which allows for the hat to be sized to fit smaller heads. The removable chinstrap is black and will be tucked up inside ready for use if the wind blows. It was carefully shipped in a large box and arrived in perfect condition! I was looking for a packable hat and while this may not be exactly packable, I will try to gently fold it (rim in down position) and carry it in my Baggallini tote (See the photos attached to the hat's description.) It seems to be well made, is a cute hat, and was reasonable, and I recommend.
