Happy...Happy...Happy
Very clear and sharp images...The software is also very user friendly. I use it with a AmScope M500c which I also got at Amazon and am very happy with it also. I did a extensive search before buying and the price could not be beat anywhere.

Works great on a SE400Z microscope
Easily installs on my SE400Z. Remove one small Philips head screw on the right optical tube , slide it out and install the camera with the spacer ring. One question I had was how much of the visual view through the microscopes optics get captured by the 10mp camera. The attached image shows you. The bottom round image is captured by my smart phone through the right optical 10x side. The yellow rectangle is approx what the 10mp camera captured. That is shown in the top half. So id estimate the camera is about equivalent to a 20x magnification. The only issue is for the price the camera really should have a microSD card slot and capture buttons to allow this to be used away from a computer but one can’t have it all. The slow frame rate id 3-20 fps one can get video in is due to the 20x optic and small Apparatur of course. It works.FYI in 2024 it doesn’t come with a CD for the software. A USB A flash drive contained the software and drivers.

Go find something else,..
If you're not happy with the resolution, why did you buy a 10mp camera? For another 100bux, you could have an objective lens cam that's capable of 4k screen res. This is quite close to 4k, actually. The problem here is with USB power, the non-standard video output, the incompatability (!) with USB 3 (a power problem, it seems) and the incredibly insane software. Even on a W10 instal on a hot ASUS laptopl, it whines about power. ASince it can't be 'seen' by standard operating system video drivers, VLC can't recognize it on any OS (including Linux). The interface is a puzzle game under W10 but much simpler under OS X (which app looks like it was develpoed by a Chinese high school class). I got it working on my Olympus lab microscope using 10.11.4 on a 2014 Macbook Pro, but it took some doing. Using the Amscope software is like sorting through landfill to find your kitchen light switch. The optics are good, the CCD resolution is fine, but the real pain in your ass will be (as usual) the crap software and proprietary stuff in the hardware. If you buy a different one, it may not be better at all. Good luck.

10MP AmScope microscope digital camera
Camera delivered quickly, properly packaged. Nice Software, I installed it under Win 7 on my HP Pavilion dv6 notebook with 2.2 GHz i7-2670QM processor and 8Gb memory. First impression - all working good. Some delay in set image (about approx 1/2 sec) after quick shift of microscope object slide.

I am pretty impressed with this camera
I am pretty impressed with this camera. the only reason I didn't give it five stars is I had to go search for the manual and software online, because it wasn't included. In fact, this camera just came in a box with no packaging at all. It's still a great camera for the price. I used it to take still images and video of Hydra for an experiment I was doing in my Biology lab. I could also project the view from my laptop to a screen, which made it perfect for what I wanted (to use for demonstrations of technique). I'd definitely recommend this (but the company may think about better packaging and instructions)

40X Obsurd
No microscope has a 40X objective........this makes this product useless.

Solid Camera Steep Learning Curve
Good product but software appears to me, after several hours of use, to be somewhat dated.Images produced must be carefully edited. Not something I would recommend for a casual hobbyist.
