Dirt removed and pool pump pressure dropped- Great product.
I use a Hayward 5030 Cartridge filters, 4 Qty, so I needed a lot of this, as per the instructions, this quantity wouldn't be sufficient, I diluted the liquid and soaked my filters overnight and followed the cleaning instructions. My pool pump pressure dropped from 30psi to 20 psi. thanks, this product works good.I suggest all pool owners use this product once a year.

Better Cleaner than Nothing
I was hovering between a 3 and 4 star review, and I went with 4 because I did actually see a bit more improvement in cleaning power using it than not. I used the spray method because I don't have anything that I can soak my pool filters in, they are too large. So I mixed the solution in a spray bottle, and felt like I had to spray so much it was painful on my hands. I think at least an auto sprayer might help next time, and I also think that it worked better as I got through all 4 of our filters. I started working out a better pattern - to pretty much spray off the worst of the gunk, then spray on the cleaner very liberally - a lot, basically - then let it sit for a few minutes, but don't let it dry. Then finish up the rinsing, and you'll see a difference. I don't see this lasting 6 months, though, as I have 4 large Pentair filters, and think I would have to use a lot more to see a bigger difference. But when I did spray a lot more on the dirty filter, I could see it actually suds up and then I rinsed the suds and debris off. I was really hoping that this cleaner would make easier work of cleaning esp the insides of the pleats, the thing that takes the longest when cleaning out these filters, and I would say it did kind of help. I'm still thinking I could get the cleaner more into the pleats with an auto sprayer, make sure to really soak the insides down, then hit it with a good high pressure hose (not blasting so as not to tear the fabric, but hard enough to spray off the debris that gets stuck in there), and that might be a better approach. I'll try that next time. They were also REALLY dirty as we've had some bad wind storms over the last few months, so there was a big job there waiting for both of us.

It worked great, but our big filter used the whole bottle.

Excellent product
I have tried so many products to clean my spa filters. This is the only one I would recommend. The price is great and the product even better. We use our hot tub every day and of course the filter get grungy. I soak my filters in this with hot water. After a few hours I 4inse 5hem off and put back in hot tub. I will be saving a lot of money because I won’t have to replace my filters so often.

Just okay. See photos and try to determine which one filter was cleaned with this product.
I have tried multiple methods for cleaning our pool filters over the years so I was interested in seeing if this cleaning solution would work any better than others we have used. First, it says that you get a 6 month supply, but that will depend on the size of your filters and how many filters your pool uses as well as how often you clean your filters. Our pool uses 4 filter cartridges and we have a couple of sets that we swap out periodically. Typically, I use a pressure washer on lower PSI with a soft tip (wide spray) and it does a great job of cleaning the filters. I have tried various filter cleaning solutions formulated specifically for pool filters as well as household cleaners like simple green, but without the pressure washer they all leave a lot of debris in the filters. The filters do not really come clean without the pressure washer step. For this experiment I did not use the pressure washer as I wanted to see how well the product itself would work. I soaked the filters overnight and used a "filter flosser" spray head on a hose with good pressure. This is a spray nozzle designed and intended for cleaning filters. Overall, I was not impressed. Did it the product make a difference? Yes. Would I call it a dramatic difference? No. I have included a couple of photos showing one of the filters that was cleaned with this product next to a filter from the same pool batch of 4 before cleaning. The one with the black band around it is is the "before "filter. The one with the 2 white bands around it is the "after" filter.

Lots of suds to rinse before using filter after cleaning
I have been using powdered spa/pool filter cleaners to soak my pool filters after thorough rinsing. The powders have a lot of bleach (strong odor) and do a nice job of sanitizing. I never rinse after soaking in the powders. This liquid cleaner required half the bottle to create the correct strength for soaking half the height of my 120 square foot filter cartridge (had to flip cartridge over to get remaining half). This liquid didn't seem to have any bleach odor at all but it did create lots of suds as I was dunking the cartridge in the solution. I asume that the detergent was cleaning the cartridge but it didn't bleach out the stains even when left overnight. I thoroughly rinsed the cartridge after the soak and it took lots of fresh water spray to get all the bubbles to disappear. If you don't like using the bleach powders, give this a try. Personally, this was more work, took longer and wasted a lot of water.
