Original German M40 WWII Type Steel Helmet- Finnish M40/55, Size 57cm, US 7 1/8

It looks very good, it is original, the shipping and IMA are top notch.

The helmet is a nice finnish version of the German sm35. The shape is the same with different liners and an extra hole on the side. The size is 57 cm exactly as stated. No bumps or dents. Much better than the reproductions which tends to be too flat.

A nice piece to have if you're into WW2. Not appropriate for anything other than display or wearing around for fun as it is heavy and not appropriate for motorcycle/bicycle protection compared to modern protective gear. It may not have been used or produced during WW2 but it is the real deal.

All in all an excellent preserved helmet, arrives rapidly and safely, just be aware that the liner can come moldy. Understandable is very old. Just be prepared to restore or replace the liner.

Towards the end of ww2 the german armyStarted to make helmets for children around the age of twelve.the helmet I received was of that size,not saying it's one from germany ,but the machine that made it was ,(die)...and it was missing liner parts..I was looking forward to adding an adult Finnish helmet to my collection.sadly that will not happen .I would like to add something to this .I had a dispute with the seller who when I think about it sent the wrong size,if they would have acknowledged it I would have swaped it for the adult size..

Very cool military history piece, however it is too small but one or sizes larger than your current hat size. Other than that great wall hanger for the gun room.

Nice helmet , don’t like the Shiny studs used for liners . I thought they could of been painted same color as helmet . But my question is ….. should there be some kind of stamp under the skirt? All authentic helmets have some kind of stamp .
