Great sound! Well made.
Love these speakers so much we bought 3 of them. They are great quality, made well and the sound is amazing. We downloaded the jbl app and were able to pair all 3 for awesome surround sound! They look great too! I love that we can take them with us when we travel. They're great at pool parties as well since they’re waterproof. The sound quality is excellent! Great value for the price and the battery lasts all day! We couldn’t be happier with these speakers!

Great Volume, Clear Sound, and Long Battery Life
I’ve been using this JBL Flip speaker for a few weeks now and I’m really impressed. The sound quality is excellent—loud, clear, and surprisingly full for a portable speaker. It connects to my phone almost instantly with no issues, and it’s been super reliable every time I’ve used it. The battery life has also been great. I’ve used it for long sessions and it always lasts longer than I expect. The build quality feels very durable and tough, so I’m confident it will hold up well over time even with regular use. Bottom line: if you want a portable speaker with great sound, easy Bluetooth connection, long battery life, and a sturdy design, this is an awesome choice.

Awesome Awesome Awesome AWESOME
I have had many speakers, two have been older model JBL speakers. This one is by far my favorite! Sits on my desk perfectly. Packs in my bag easily. The sounds is well balanced and the app helps as well. I can take it down stairs and it fills the whole floor without it needing to be too loud. I can play shows on on my phone and the sound is full and doesn't fall flat like others. I also like the way it looks, its a clean looking speaker that is built well. The strap/clip buckle mechanism is nice too, I like using the strap has a finger loop to carry it around but its nice to able to clip to my bag if I need to.

I'm so happy I bought this - the perfect pink speaker
I'm in love with my pink JBL. Not only is it so cute and visibly appealing, but It's easy to set up and use, and I also have the JBL app which is helpful. The sound quality is amazing. The speaker is lightweight and easy to bring around. It is also waterproof, which made this speaker perfect poolside or at the beach.

Amazing little speaker, JBL quality.
Amazing little speaker, JBL quality. Plug and play. I was surprised that the charging cable didn't come with the speaker, but they're cheap enough. The sound is great for this lil' compact unit. Could fit in a medium size purse. Appears very sturdy. Great buy for the money. Sound is great for the size. Paired right up with my phone.

Excellent Sound and Deep Base!
Wow!! Upgrading from the Flip 4 to the 7. JBL has always delivered some of the best quality speakers in the market and this is no different. I played them both at the same time and the 7 has such a deep base and crisp sound, even at the higher volume. Great value as always and not that bulky. About the same size as the 4 but maybe a little heavier. Looks super cool also (rugged)! Took about 3 seconds to set up and was compatible instantly! Downloaded the JBL app and was playing with the EQ also! Can’t wait to play it at the campground parties!

Good sound, with a few disappointments.
So for context, I bought this to replace an aging Bose Soundlink Micro that had been in daily use for probably 6 or 7 years at this point. Still working, but battery life was noticeably degraded, the strap broke years ago, and it had developed an annoying hiss/static noise at lower volumes. I'm sure I got thousands of hours of listening out of it, so hard to be disappointed there. Build quality is quite good. Feels solid and can stand up to being tossed around as portable speakers tend to. The "burrito" form factor makes it easy to stick in a water bottle slot or cup holder and easily fits in a bag. The interchangeable (replaceable) loop/carabiner is a nice touch, given the elastic strap on the Bose was molded in/non replaceable and broke after a year or two. Lots of colors to choose from, though I got the ordinary black (I suspect the white/tans would start to look grubby fairly soon if you use them outdoors). Sound quality is quite good, surprisingly rich and bassy at lower to mid volumes. You can tell at about 70% volume it starts pulling bass to avoid distortion, but if you routinely are needing to use it at full volume, probably a good idea to move up to a larger speaker, like the Charge or Xtreme. The Flip is good for personal to small group listening, although indoors, it can fill a moderate size room assuming you just want some "background music" and not DJing a party. JBL has some secret sauce when it comes to having the sound be surprisingly non-directional. The actual drivers are behind the logo on the front, yet unlike a lot of other speakers, you don't need to have it pointed directly at you to sound good. The bluetooth works exactly as expected, with typical BT range- about 30-40ft. Nothing to note there. It does support the newer Auracast protocol, which in theory should make it compatible to pair up with other brand speakers that are Auracast enabled as it's a BT standard, not a proprietary pairing mode, although suspect that probably won't be the case, too early to know since JBL seems to be the only company integrating it to their speakers, everyone else is still using proprietary modes exclusive to that brand's products. The buttons work also as expected and are quite intuitive. The play/pause button also has the now mostly standard double-tap to skip forward, or triple tap to skip back so you can control it without your phone. The volume control also syncs to your phone, which also thankfully is becoming standard. Couple little issues though that to me keep it from being perfect. -As virtually every review of a JBL speaker mentions, the battery life claim is not realistic, and evidently assumes playing it at a quite low volume (like it's on a desk or bedside table at 10-20% volume for personal listening in a quiet room). 6 hours of 20% playing used 40% of the battery, so that lines up with the 14 hour claim. But used outdoors, it's going to be at least at 40-50% and the battery life rapidly diminishes if you crank it up. At full blast, just 1 hour wiped out half the battery. For high volume/outdoors use, you probably want to go up to the Charge. -Unlike the 7 year old Bose (and most other modern BT devices), this does not broadcast it's battery level over the standard BT protocol, so you can't quickly check battery off your phone's BT banner or tab- you have to open the JBL app. It does have a little battery "gauge" on the back that turns on if you press any button that gives you a vague "full, med, low" sort of bar. Little nitpick, but why they omitted that is odd. -It also charges relatively slow Despite being USB-C, it doesn't seem to support any rapid charging protocol. The manual says 5v/3a, but my measurement peaked at 10 watts, so it only seems to draw about 2 amps. It also claims to recharge in 2.5 hours, for me that was closer to 4. (that was using a PD-enabled 65w charger, so not a charger limitation). For a 2025 release product, that's not great. -The power/BT buttons are backlit. The play/pause and fwd/rev buttons (that you interact with more often) are not. Odd design choice. More odd....the tiny LEDs of the battery indicator turn off after a few seconds, presumably to save battery. The button backlights are on all the time, and are really quite bright. In a dark room, they can serve as a dim flashlight to find your way around, so are also annoyingly bright for bedside listening. You can "flip" the speaker upside down so it's "sitting" on the power button to hide the light, but think it'd be easy enough to have an option in the app to turn that off. Nope. That possibly could be added in a future firmware, but at present, they're always on. -No speakerphone. Not a deal breaker, but for the premium price they're asking, would think that'd be included. Being I use it on my desk while working, the Bose was occasionally convenient to just take a call if one came in (and sounded excellent on both ends). The app works well enough but is largely inessential. Install it once to update the firmware, play around with the EQ if you want, but after that you can realistically delete it unless you plan to use the multi-point pairing on a regular basis (which can be done via the speaker also). TL;DR +Sound quality +Build quality/ruggedness +Portability +Sound has a good 360* effect. - Mediocre battery life - Slow charging - MSRP is getting steep, I'd wait for a sale or consider a prior generation.
