Has anyone put this on a killowatt meter? What is the range of power use?

The wattage depends on how hot it is outside and the speed of the compressor (maintaining temp or cooling down a hot room). It's max draw is 1300w, however in most conditions it could be anywhere from 400w (thermostat set to 60 and outside 78F) to 700w (thermostat set to 60, inside 72, outside 93). If you were to spray water on the condenser outside you'd see a noticeable drop in power consumption as the load on the compressor also drops from the lower temperature. Pretty interesting

Dear LG, when can we expect a 5000 or 6000 Btu version of this technology?

Given this unit is a dual circuit and invertor controlled together with variable speed fans indoor and condenser - i doubt they will make a smaller unit. This will operate at 1-2000 btus quieter and more efficiently than any other ac unit on the market. I don't work for LG - I am however a professional HVAC designer! If everyone switched to this type of unit instead of buying the cheapest nosiest single speed units - NYC would reduce its peak summer load significantly and the streets would be quieter. Let alone the savings from to 20-30% Reduction in energy usage

These Q & As seem to cover both the 9500 and 14000 BTU models. The 14000 BTU has a removeable sleeve that makes through the wall installation possible, as I did and wrote a favorable review. I also bought the 9500 BTU model and found out on receipt that it does not have a slide-in chassis feature, which makes wall installation much more difficult ,as well as making any repair nearly impossible once it is foamed in place. I installed it that way as the lesser evil to making a window otherwise useless and just cross my fingers that it will never need to be removed before it is destined for disposal. I will not even be registering its warranty because it can never be returned or repaired once foamed into the wall, IMHO.
