Yes, I also have used in drinks and it works great. I have purple and silver.

Do you sprinkle it on before or after baking?

Hi there, On or before baking what? If macarons, yes. Sprinkle it on before baking your macarons. DiamonDust is best sprinkled as an accent to cookies, cakes, cupcakes, etc. Thank you.

Can it be mixed in with buttercream frosting?

Unfortunately it is not best utilized in this way, the product it's self is for food use and though it is approved food coloring if you try to add it to any ingredients outside of a few that are clear such as Isomalt, clear piping gel or drinks it will loose much of the shine. The DiamonDust is a product that is considered an interference color, as such the best way to utilize it is to have it as topical use primarily. So sprinkling it on Buttercream not mixing it. Adding it to the outside of chocolate dipped strawberries not in the actual chocolate. This will allow the lite to hit the mica and give it the sparkle. Hope this helps
