Casio Men's MTP4500D-1AV Slide Rule Bezel Aviator Stainless Steel Watch The Casio Aviator stainless steel men's watch combines the timeless style of a three-hand analog with the sophisticated look of a multi-dial watch. This large round watch measures 42mm wide (1.65 inches), and it's complemented by a stainless steel bracelet band that mixes brushed and polished finishes. This highly technical timepiece includes a rotating slide rule bezel, and a chronograph that measures events down to 1 second. The black dial includes luminous hour markers, small minute indexes, and luminous-tipped gray hands (with orange seconds hand). Other features include a ±30-second accuracy per month, scratch-resistant mineral crystal, and water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); CasioWith the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward. See more

Beautiful well made and tough
Really nice looking watch and inexpensive. Keeps perfect time and is easy to read. It was a gift for a friend who is really hard on watches and it’s tough.

Great watch.
Got this on sale for about $55 and I think it punches way above its weight.Other people complained about the slide rule inner bezel being misaligned but mine came in the correct spot so it doesn't seem like a widespread issue. The chronograph works well and on reset the second hand sweeps around back to the start. It's quite fun to watch. The pushers are easy to use and the crown won't easily be pulled out by accident. The lume glows very bright and makes it easy to read if it suddenly gets dark. The black and orange looks clean but I was not the biggest fan of the metal bracelet. I replaced it with a black and gray nato strap. For those wondering, the size of the strap is 22mm. I ordered a 23 at first and it's slightly too big.I really like the look of the concentric rings on the dial. I've gotten a couple compliments on it already.Great watch especially for the price. It's hard to find a good chronograph for under $100 but this one is great.

Nice watch but fails in a couple of aspects.
This is a nice looking watch and seems reliable and accurate so far. The 42mm case is not too bulky and looks good. The band was easy to adjust using a paperclip. Two downsides that prevent a 5-star rating: (1) the slide rule is pretty much useless, because it is way too small to read - even in bright light; it's nothing more than a nice decoration. Not to mention, there were no instructions on how to use it.(2) There is very low contrast between the hands (silver) and all of the clutter on the main dial (the sub dials, the little subdial hands, the brand name, all of which are in silver or white, plus glare off of the flat crystal) as a result it's frequently impossible to tell what time it is without taking your eyes off the road for too long.I'm keeping this but if I was doing it again I'd get something else.

Casio Does It Again
The MTP4500D-1AV is a ridiculously underrated watch - as a Casio, you can expect it to provide tons of value for a remarkably low price, and it really delivers on this. It keeps time sufficiently, and it includes a chronograph complication that's certainly nice to have, though it won't time milliseconds or anything, only hours/minutes/seconds.In addition, it boasts a slide rule bezel, a real rarity at its price point. Its slide rule bezel allows multiplication and division problems to be estimated quickly and efficiently. If you're looking for a watch with a slide rule and you don't want this one, the Citizen Nighthawk, Seiko Flightmaster, and Breitling Navitimer are all options, if you're willing to pay for them.Visually, the watch is pretty neat looking. The face is definitely very busy with the chronograph dials and slide rule, which is great if you're looking for an aviator watch, but not so much for minimalist Bauhaus styles. It can also be a little difficult to read at times, as the crystal is pretty reflective, but it's pretty easy to get used to it. As for the band, it works, but you might want to consider replacing it with a leather band or a different metal bracelet.Ultimately, the MTP4500D-1AV is a fine watch. It's timekeeping abilities are solid, and its slide rule bezel makes it a wonderful piece. At its price point, it's really hard to complain about any of its flaws - I don't think there's anything in its weight class that can compare to it.

Amazing watch, looks like a more expensive watch.
I am not a watch guy, I just decided to start a small and affordable collection. I got this on sale, less than 60 UDS, and the watch is just beautiful. I have a lot of respect for and good memories of Casio, great watches for excellent prices, and they have a reputation of excellent quality. The chronograph design is amazing, it does really look like a more expensive watch. I didn't like the metal strap, since I wanted to look like an aviator watch, so I got some leather straps for ~12 UDS. The result: amazing watch, see the pictures, and got already compliments, this is just amazing for less than 80 UDS. I am unsure if I will ever spend hundreds of dollars on watches, but this is the first one I have added to my collection and I am super happy. I have the "Casio Men's EF527D-1AV "Edifice" and "Casio Men's Diver Inspired" on my wishlist, those are next.

Impressive watch. Solid bracelet.
Hard to beat the value—certainly with a functioning sliderule bezel.About that bezel, yes, the numbers are tiny. The sides of the inner bezel are steep, which makes it difficult to read the markings looking straight down on the face of the watch. But they are perfectly legible if you hold the watch at more of an angle and if your prescription eyewear is up to date. The watch is not as big as it appears in photos, which makes it perfect for smaller wrists like mine. (The Casio Edifice is 3.5 mm larger.) If you do happen to have a larger wrist, the bracelet comes with a ridiculous number of extra links, so you should be good.Speaking of the bracelet, I am not sure why there are so many reviews complaining about it being flimsy or rolled metal, unless Casio upgraded it recently. The bracelet I received is not rolled or stamped, it is solid (see photo). And like most Casio metal bracelets, it is beautifully integrated into the case of the watch with a custom link that receives the pin. Before I saw the watch in person, I intended to replace the metal bracelet with a black leather band. I may still do that, because I think the black leather would actually dress it up and be a great look paired with the black dial. But make no mistake, this is a nice bracelet.Mechanically, the stopwatch button is stiff and makes a disconcerting click when you press it. But this may well be a feature instead of a bug, because it functions perfectly. The bezel rotates beautifully—not too tight, not too loose. It almost feels fluid-dampened.Overall, if you’re on a budget and looking for an everyday timepiece with some impressive not-so-everyday complications, this may be your jam.
