Although a dual capacitor it works as a single.
My standby generator started fine. However, no current was being produced. After extensive research I discovered that it is brushless. I had tried to flash the field to no avail. Then I tested the original capacitor which was rated at 47uF. It tested at 22uf...no good. I couldn't find the original model. Consequently, I settled for a 50uF model. When it arrived, it wasn't the one I had ordered which was a single capacitor. Instead, it was a dual for an air conditioner. Moreover, it was slightly smaller in diameter and greater in length. But, the hold down bracket worked fine and the capacitor fit well. Nevertheless, the extra contact was for a fan. After consulting with a professional maintenance journeyman, I simply hooked up the main two contacts, started the motor, and YAY! it works like new. Great product!
