Noise is relative, I guess - to me this fan is loud at the medium setting, and high is downright annoying. It runs like a PC fan - quiet if you are reading a web page, and noisy as hell if you are gaming. The low setting is the only "quiet" option for my application, as I am running the fan between the living room and the sunroom, to move warm air from the woodstove. I can actually watch TV at night and can almost forget about the fan (at low setting). However, the unit I received malfunctions, and will always creep up to medium speed even though the controller is not touched - so annoying that I sent feedback to the seller and plan to return this defective unit.
