Penguin pottery glaze …translucent glaze. Good quality cone 5/6 misfire glaze. Creates a lovely purple-lavender color when using 2 brush painted coats. Will buy this again.

I loved the color, but this glaze is not glossy

I ordered the Penguin Celadon Series Amethyst glaze for use on cone 6 porcelain. The piece pictured was bisque Fired to cone 04. I applied 3x brush coats. It was glaze fired to cone 6. Each piece I have used it on has come out the exact color and glossiness pictured/described by the company. I LOVE this glaze!

I think I might stick to purchasing glazes at my local clay store. This Product claims to be glossy and from the product photo I had expected it to be so. I really don’t like the look of matte gloss’s so this is a disappointment. I also used it on my grandma’s urn and it turned out the same way, I had fired it twice on Cone 5 & 6 but it all came out the same.. I called my local store to help and they said it might not be getting fired hot enough but I’m not sure I want to risk doing Cone 7 in my year old kiln. Learn from me: USE TEST TILES! This made my large urn look awful.
