VidPro Microphone Adapter for GoPro Hero3 and Hero4 - 3.5mm to USB Mini

This cable works perfectly with GoPro Hero 4 Black. It also works with the Sena GP10-01/GP10-02 Audio Pack when other similar cables would not. Cable quality is a little light duty for an action camera. Would like to see robust strain reliefs where the cable meets the connectors. We'll have to see how it holds up. The connector quality is good. Would buy again. Wish there was an optional version of this cable that had a 90 degree USB connector.

My GoPro HERO4 camera expects a three-ring microphone (as a Mini USB), so this adapter accepts a three-ring, then formats it as a mini USB. I bought the adapter as an extra, because one way to trick the HERO4 camera to not record audio is by plugging an adapter (with no microphone). This way I can have one camera record mic audio, and the other camera record no audio.

I was able to use it in my phone and it works great. However, it is not the item I needed for my camera. I should have paid closer attention to descriptions, so I'm placing the blame on myself for not being diligent.

I bought this for my camera since it doesn't have a port for an external microphone but once I got it, it didn't fit the mini usb port on my camera but I tried another cord I had with a mini usb end and that fit just fine. I am returning this item
