Lined Black Velvet Cloak – Medieval Renaissance Costume by Artemisia Designs

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! I'm a rather chubby 5.4ft tall and this cloak is still alittle longer, I love how it looks on me and actually doesn't have that much of a shallow hood from what everyone says; So now here are some pros and cons of the CloakPros:It's long (This is a pro for me since I love that it trails behind me and gives a amazing mysterious look to those who wear it)Keeps in heat when closed all the wayCan be used as a blanket (I fell asleep with it on when I got it) and you'll wake up as warm as being in a sleeping bagit's very soft and easier to clean when you have a lint rollerCons:It catches lint pretty easily but what can you expect it's velvet, A lint roller will clean it right up thoughIt's long so it's best to hem it up a bit so you don't get dirt on it if you wear it outside (I prefer to not mess with the cloak and just wear platform heels)Wow... That's really all I have for cons! I love Artemisia Designs and their cloak very much, Infact this cloak game perfectly on time and rather quickly, The package came with a business card that is rather eye catching, After seeing a dress on the business card I went to their site and am happy to find out they have plus sized including my favourite 5x (I really like baggy clothing) I am going to be wearing a dress they made a long with my new platform heels and cloak to school! which is a pretty big deal since I've never worn a dress since age eight, I went to my more tomboy side but these dresses are a must buy, gotta have, can't pass it!

First of all, I got my cloak very quickly: I got an email that it had shipped Monday morning, and that I could expect it on Wednesday or Thursday. I went to bed (I work 3rd shift) and when I woke up it had already arrived. Score. When I opened it I immediately was thrilled. It feels heavy and is really long but also flows very well, and I can tell it will provide some extra warmth if I need it at ren faire. The only thing I didn't like was the ties. They're thick and long and were not very nice looking in my opinion. I did make a few changes to the cloak to make it perfect for me: since I'll be wearing it outdoors, I hemmed it to just above floor length so it doesn't drag through the dirt and mud, and I also waterproofed it in case I need to use it to protect myself from the elements. I also ended up removing the ties and sewing on a cloak clasp. With those customizations it was absolutely perfect and I couldn't be happier with it. Just know that the velvety outside does pick up lint easily, so if you're wearing it outside the house be sure to bring a lint roller.

This is a fun cloak and I would say overall it's probably better than the other cloaks in the price bracket. I like how long it is (i'm 6' and it touches the ground) and the fact that it is lined. The material is soft and durable though obviously not top notch, but if you wanted that you would buy a top notch cloak and spend hundreds of dollars on it.My issues with the cloak are that due to the material used for the outer portion this thing is like a walking vacuum and anything it touches gets cleaned while it continues to get more and more lint dust and other debris all over it, especially on the hem as it's sweeping the floor for you as you walk. The other issue is the hood, it's not really very big, and it rests kind of weird on your head, laying out a bit wide, which is ok, but it isn't very deep so i found the balance of the material as it rests on the head a bit precarious with the satin lining.For the price, it's a good buy and the things i take issue with may not bug you at all, especially if your house is cleaner than mine apparently is.

I got this in the mail 5 days before the actual arrival date!The only down side to this cloak is the hood, like everyone else said, it's not deep enough but over all I love the feel. BRB playing DnD.If you love cloaks you will enjoy this. Also I'm 5'5 and this cloak hits the ground. Then again I have a girlish LIKE figure for a guy... so really I'm just skinny...The hood is why I gave it a 4/5 but still cloak by itself is 5PLEASE NOTE THIS SAYS DRY CLEAN ONLY! I read SO many reviews about people complaining about the Harry potter cloak not being good in the dryer. YOU DUMBBY! IT'S HAS A TAG READ IT! Or let your mother handle it.

this cloak is just what i was looking for. i bought it for a Masquerade Ball and was a little nervous it would be too long. i'm 5'11 and on me it just brushes the floor. it's the perfect for me. it touches the ground with a little bit of pooling (not much though) and i could dance in it. it was scheduled to arrive between the 28th and March 5 but it came the 27ththough it would have been well worth the wait and is well worth the money.though as others have said it can attract lint and cat hair but that is just a property of the fabric and no real fault to the cloak and i'll jusr store it in the plastic bag it came in and invest in sticky roller brushes, haha.overall i love it

i ordered this because when i saw the pictures it did what i wanted it to do, close all the way when i was standing still. i just opened it and put it on for the first time and it doesnt close the way they show in the pictures, also in the pictures it looks alot thicker than it really is. i got this because the one i have had for a few years was too short and too thin. this one isnt much thicker and i would've liked the hood to come forward a little more, not just pool at the base of the neck. over all for the price its not bad it matches my coustume well and its the leingth i wanted.

Ordered this the other day for Halloween after looking through every similar item I could find. This one looked like the highest quality so I took a chance. Very glad I did. It is very well constructed, looks great. Nice feel and weight to it. Wears very well and is comfortable. Sits perfectly on my shoulders and the hood is perfect. I was worried about the length because I am 6'4" and it falls perfectly at my ankles, so it doesn't drag on the ground but it covers everything but my feet. What was purchased for a one-time event will probably get a lot of use.
